Guns in America

The only real difference is when it was detonated. Let it off during school hours = dead kids and faculty. Take it to a mall on a Saturday and detonate it = dead people everywhere. This as opposed to bombing a building after-hours where it would be reasonable to assume zero casualties.

And I wasn't saying you were the one saying they weren't easy, per se, but I've brought this up several times across various threads and the prevailing sentiment has always been they're not easy to make and it wouldn't happen. I'm pointing out that we did have a period of time where bombings were commonplace (despite being for a different reason), and they're reasonably easy to make and with today's technology they're easier to target.

Remove all guns and this will be our reality, and I'm a very firm believer in that.
They aren’t as easy as buying a gun and pulling a trigger. That’s the comparison, not to ease compared to the 70s.

So then we're back to one of my other arguments: It was far easier to buy a gun, including full-blown machine guns back then, but we didn't see mass shootings like we do now. What's changed?

mofos acting like 3D printing isn't as accessible are in denial

I'm not gon dry snitch but with a approx $100 and a standard drill press u can make an AR15 lower

plus the argument about how expensive it would be doesn't follow when the Uvalde shooter had the money to afford a Daniel Defense AR........Daniel Defense is one of the most expensive AR manufacturers when there are plenty of cheaper ones available

these mass shooters are not worried about expense/availability

what's being ignored is people don't want to go past the surface to figure out what is motivating these people to commit mass shootings

and gun control people simply focus on the gun instead of looking for real solutions to provide safety to the public

and u betta not be one of those "black lives matter" people who were protesting police brutality

but yet u also somehow support gun control

cuz how u expect the same govt institutions u protest against to keep u safe while u are also advocating for them to take ur guns

how do u expect to be able to protect urself from crime

And now we’re back to one of my other arguments. When societal dynamics change, access must change accordingly.

When there’s an opioid epidemic, they don’t say let’s figure out why people need opioids and make it even easier to get them. They cut the access.

I don't understand why it's not being discussed more. It's definitely not games

Seems like key factors are parenting and infamy IMO. Majority of people can go to the movies and see a violent shooter and not want to go replicate it

Perhaps the idea that your life will become public knowledge and people will remember something about you decades after you're gone

I get it if folks want to kill they will but burning up bombing when shooting are way more common is crazy

did you not read the article I linked??? Bombing WAS commonplace. It was so common that folks were getting that "oh, that again???" attitude towards bombings like hood niggas in the late 80's and 90's about drug shootings like this:

No crying, emotion or anything but "yo ole boy got smoked..." "damn... that's the streets for ya".

People do discuss those things. Alot. It's all over this thread. There's plenty of posts about why America specifically seems to have the relationship with guns and viewing them as the solution to problems. And that all involves mental health, societal influences and more. That shit isn't being ignored at all.

Ok man

From the article:

"Consider what happened when another Puerto Rican group detonated a small bomb in a Bronx cinema while a rapt crowd watched a movie called The Liberation of L.B. Jones. When police ordered everyone to leave, an NYPD spokesman complained, the audience angry refused, demanding to see the rest of the movie. When police insisted, “They about tore the place apart.”"

Think about that: A bomb goes off in the very theater you're in and instead of running or leaving when police tell you it's time to go, you get mad and wanna continue watching the flick.

Again I get it the 70s was bombing everyday and etc I’ve never heard my parents talk about bomb threats in the 70s or 80s at all tho. I’ve heard them talk about guns. We have more guns than people not more bombs. Bringing up other weapons which are not used as much as guns does what?

Again the mental health part is valid but mental health gets no support so idk why you keep saying that.

Uh….no.

In Washington & Oregon, they’ve legalized possession of a lot of hard drugs because it’s become beyond them to control. Opioids run the streets more than ever. In Seattle. people can smoke their fenty pills in front of the cops and they won’t/do anything but help you if you overdose.

3D printing has come an extremely long way and I don’t think a lot of people understand all that’s possible these days.

Y’all seen this 0% lower printer? It takes a raw block of aluminum and makes it into a AR lower.
