Breaking News Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signs Voter Suppression bill

In a state where black voter turnout was at a one of the all time highs, and it flipped the state blue they changed the laws to make it harder for us to vote.

Yet there are no laws in blue states similar to what Georgia has.

But but but Democrats and Republicans are the same.
Yea but the state ain’t blue, obviously by how easy they passed the bill. People need to realize this is why state elections are important too.

Also why blame just GA when the Supreme Court help gut the voting rights act. SCOTUS allowed this.

So I'm reading Georgia already gives out free voter ID cards and are in talks of making State IDs free for eligible citizens.

In that case requiring ID for absentee ballots shouldn't be an issue.

And the food/water shit, petty as it is, been Fed law since 1948 just rarely prosecuted. I read in 2008 starbucks, krispy kreme and Ben & jerry's were giving out free shit to voters but received backlash and had to change the promotion to just let everyone who walks in get free items, voter or not. Petty yes, but not Jim Crow 2.0

The bill also aims to open more polling places if wait times exceed an hour at any given station which would probably reduce if not eliminate the need to hydrate voters. <----this should be HEAVILY scrutinized to make sure they actually follow through

Now defending republicans, ESPECIALLY down south, ain't the hill I'ma die on, especially when fuck shit is expected of em every election, so fuck em anyway everyday...but this aint what the media tryna make it out to be.

Take a guess what laws was very prominent in 1948............ :foh5: :foh5: :foh5:
True. As a law itself it's not racist or even partisan UNLESS the lines continue to be long at polling places (which seems to only happen in black areas).

The bill explicitly intends to shorten waiting times by placing more machines and opening more polling stations if necessary....and allows food and drink to be offered by polling officers/staff, just not random ppl pulling up off the street.

So there's nothing jim crow about the bill itself.

My point is, long lines and closed down poll stations was the biggest issue for (predominantly black) voters in the last election. The bill actually contains their own solutions to address those problems.

So while the republicans deserve all the scrutiny in the world, this seems like media relying on people to not form their own opinions and provoke outrage. If u read all the diff headlines u can see which outlet being biased and who's not.

Bingo..

You and a lot of people might not agree, but there is nothing wrong with needing a ID to vote. The media has been saying for years requiring ID is racism because we can’t afford to get them.:scust:

that’s some racist shit to even think
I think ID should be required to vote but nothing more complicated than that.

Considering voter turnout last election, ID is not holding people back from voting

On top of just today learning voter IDs are free in Georgia....... the okie doke right there.

That voter ID shot is dumb.

of course you need a government ID and if you don’t have one you shouldn’t be able to vote. Shit is literally so damn easy to get.

People in here reading the law itself and saying its not bad.

But they dont understand thats not the point.

The point is that they wrote some ambigious ass shit to be able to throw away a mfers vote.

Now wait till 10k votes are thrown out in 2024 cause someone was giving away water bottles on line.

The GA bill bans it within a building where voting occurs, withing 150 feet of said building, and within 25 feet of any voter standing in line.

Montana/Minnesota ban it within 100 ft of the building/entrance

🤷🤷🤷
