Tried a sample of Nishane - Fan Your Flames...

Think it could be a good one to replace my Virgin Island Water... Really nice coconut, rum and vanilla notes with a nice bit of sweetness mixed in...

Hmm so after wearing it for 8hrs (great longevity) the dry down near the end got slightly sharp, like ambery sharp (like what I think amber is anyways, like a balsamic brain zap)... With how much is costs not sure I would a buy bottle after all...

I just walked around a department store on my lunch break though (on the hunt to steal some of those paper sample blotter strips that they leave out lol) and had to front like I was gonna buy something... I ended up testing Tom Ford Eau de Soleil Blanc, why has no one told me about this!?! A lovely coconut scent!... Think THIS may be the VIW replacement...

Anyways I got talking to one of the sales ladies about fragrances (which made me feel bad as I only came in to steal tester strips lol) and she ended up blessing me with tons of samples... So I left with loads of samples, a new fragrance to investigate... and of course a mountain of tester strips lol

Man so many of these YouTube fragrance channels chat sh!t, theyre basically paid commercials... The Perfume Guy basically loves everything, I do check some his videos when looking for certain notes but then try find more honest reviews...

I the only two channels I really trust, that I found actually give negative comments about brands and fragrances (and are actually really knowledgeable) are:

My Fragrance World and Ramsey (though he only really talks about vintage or discontinued stuff)...

Anyone got anyother trusted channels they watch???

Also found a really good brand from My Fragrance World, she was talking about Miller Harris and so I ordered a few samples and their Hydra Figue and Oud Eclat was great... Worth checking out them out next time you get a sample haul...

I look at Gents Scents sometimes on YouTube. I mostly like it.

Yeah Ive checked some of his vids too, he seems fairly humorous and can spend quite a while watch his vids... If he recommends something I'll go check to see if My World or Ramsey have opinions about it and maybe get a sample...

What was really wild was when the new Amouage 40 dropped and every YouTuber got a free $500 bottle and surprise, surprise loved it, like Perfume Guy apparently didnt really fck when he tried it at the airport... then got a free bottle and loved it lol

Whereas Ramsey who loved the OG Amouage said they totally fckd it up, even said said the new batches of the OG were fckd since they changed perfumer...

I fuck with my world of Fragrance, A Nose Knows and the homie Equality Fragrances.

Cubaknow if I wanna laugh but pretty much everybody on fragrance YouTube is shilling

Yeah My World is really dope, not checked the others I'll give them a try...

Just want these fckrs to say sh!t is personally wack to them or give some insight on poor ingredients etc like My World was saying she wouldnt recommend spending money on a perfume (cant remember which one now) because it was mainly synthetic molecules like ISO E etc, even though it smelt nice you werent getting value for the price...

Like you say so many of these YouTubers are brand ambassadors...

Tried pretty much all of the Miller Harris I was interested in, think I might purchase their Oud Eclat at somepoint and its a toss up between their Fig or Floris's Fig for summer fragrance as I want a refreshing fig joint for summer... @Tayboo if you get a chance try their Secret Gardenia too its a nice feminine scent, apparently its in the sale alot too...

Just had a sh!t ton of samples turn up and the hit rate was baaaaaad so I wont post them up...

One thing I have finally realised is that I HATE strong amber notes, so thats something I know for the future and so many of the samples had amber at the front smh

What are you guys thoughts on amber scents??? It literally gives me brain zaps screw my face up...

Im also not a fan of overly leathery notes either and scents that are too sweet and fruity kinda lose their individuality...

What did like was:

Le Labo - Bergamot 22

A citrusy scent that dries down with abit of spice... Will try on for a day and see how it wears...

PDM - Percival

Quite a fresh smell, not sure I would buy it at such a high price though...

Serge Lutens - Datura Noir

Nice but way too feminine, smells like a mature female perfume... Think the floral with the coconut is a nice mix but leans way too feminine... @Tayboo have you this one???
I enjoy the amber smell. My grand soir is amber based.

Think it might not be the amber but the ambroxan, its the metallic, chemically smell, if its not at the front or middle it often hangs around when the rest of the scent has gone too... It just zaps right though my brain...

For instance I wore my tester of Xerjoff's Alexandria II the other week which is an amber and really liked it, then after like 8hrs my t shirt smelled just smelt of that chemically, metallic smell....

My man's the plug

I got a few bottles from him but I think invictus might be the goat.

What would yall cop or what's already in your collection that you really like?

Someone closer to my price range! Man I just recently started dabbling with Perry Ellis. The 360 red is a solid cologne to me. And I just smelled Midnight for the first time today. That shit was great... definitely my next buy.

I can't help you bro, I don't wear clones

I’m intrigued…

Inresting, let us know if you sample the line...

Ive not smelled many tea fragrances but I like Fig notes, which seem to get bundled in with tea for somereason...

If you like that thing check out Floris's 'Mulberry Fig' and Miller Harris's 'Hydra Figue'...
