how you call this dumb down

Hov' is back, life stories told through rap
Niggas actin' like I sold you crack
Like I told you sell drugs
No, hov' did that
So hopefully you won't have to go through that
I was raised in the projects, roaches and rats
Smokers out back, sellin' they mama's sofa
Lookouts on the corner, focused on the Ave.
Ladies in the window, focused on the kinfolk
Me under a lamp post, why I got my hand closed?
Cracks in my palm, watchin' the long arm of the law
So you know I seen it all before
I seen hoop dreams deflate like a true fiend's weight
To try and to fail, the two things I hate
Succeed in this rap game, the two things that's great
H to the Izz-o, V to the Izz-A
What else can I say about dude, I gets busy

this aint Party like a rockstar or Crank dat

dude was dropping gems and game all throughout the song.

Tho I disagree with AP's overall point, he's right about Izzo. The first verse of Izzo actually won Quotable of the Year in the Source.

i think he getting caught up in the hook and the Jackson 5 sample, but this was common in rap at that time where everybody was fa shizzle, my nizzle, B. Gizzle, etc...

so hov made a hook and said Izzo

I think he came harder on Can't knock my hustle and to me I can play that song 1,000 times and not get tired of it, Izzo, I can't do the same.

Kool ass song, no doubt.

I felt he came harder on Politics as Usual than Izzo but that's just me.

You feel my triumph never - feel my pain
I'm lying low in the leathers, I am, the best that's ever came
The game changes like my mind just ain't right
Rewind get this dough, I guess it ain't your night
Sucking me in like a vacuum, I remember
Telling my family: "I'll be back soon"; that was December
'85 and Jay-Z rise 10 years later

Got me wise still can't break my underworld ties
I wear black a lot, in the Ac', act a lot
Got matching VCR's, a huge Magnavox
Ten inch, green like spinach, pop wines that's vintage
It's a lot of big money in my sentence
Hittin' towards a mil', lip a, written I kill like that
Chick baby one-two cat, yeah, I do that
Ain't no stoppin' the champagne from poppin'
The drawers from droppin', the law from watchin' - I hate 'em
Politics as usual

"I kept feeding her money, until her shit started to make sense"

D'Evils

I must have came back to that line about 4 or 5 times when I first heard it.

this is funny reading this from you as I tried to put you on RD several times throughout the years and you would always say "jay-z is wack" or "boosie is better than Jay-z"

hmmmm

hmmmm

No lie you did try and put me on dude, just a late learning lesson.

Breh chill

I'd prolly brush you off by saying Jay wasn't on my radar, but that never came outta my mouth breh about Boosie being better than Jay. I wasn't even that heavy of a Boosie fan like that, but I'ma let you shine bright.

nah brah, it was you and JL saying that shit...i would put in RD and play it, and ya'll both would say, in unison "man cut that bullshit off, put that manelli on"

just own it

i mean, its dope you like him to the point to go check out he earlier stuff, but dont deny ya disdain for him back in the day

Aye breh, you're an asshole, just for the record.

Man you played me breh

But nah, I never had an appeal for dude, never gave him a listen.

Ppl change.

You are correct, that was said, but that doesn't mean, Boosie was better than dude, just didn't wanna hear that Jay shit at the time.

I own it, it was said, but the Boosie part wasn't

my favorite Jay album is the black album....

however Jay has multiple great 5 mice classic albums.....

the blue print is easily one of them....he was in his complete prime at this point flawless effort

dopest thing about bp was how complimentary the unplugged special was to it.......

shit was bananas.......

I'ma see if i can get knock to post up lol

This Shit Can't Be Flawless With Trash Like Jigga That Nigga And Hola Hovito On That Shit...That Renegade Beat Was Malnourished AF Too..Shit Sounded Like A Free Eminem Beat...That Verse Probably Came With The Stipulation That He Had Use That Thin Ass Instrumental

Blueprint Is Not 5 Mics IMO And Neither Is Stillmatic While I'm At It....I Dont Want To Be Accused To Stanning For Nas
