Depends on what you mean by stalled out

Pen wise Em is always getting better to me or trying to at least on his better post Eminem show albums.

he only gets more clever and witty with time, but his songs aren't as catchy and easily digested like that were .

Where did Em really need to grow to when he reached like the top level of lyricism, commercialism, and creativity on his second album?

Em's first album was classic too,but MMLP was some whole other shit.

That's when he really mastered song writing with crazy styles like I am and Kill You that were far more original than the flows on SSLP

Em's biggest issue isn't even music related.Nigga is an addict and it slowed down that machine around 2004.

After that he hasn't been as public and Interscope and the game was changing.

Our ears for music totally changed by 2006 as a whole.

Nah mate his biggest issue is that he's lackin' in ideas and has been for a very, very, very long time.

lacking in ideas?hmph maybe,or ppl don't gravitate to his ideas the way they used to

Relapse had a lot of conceptual songs on it.

Revival was stale

MMLP 2 tried some things.I liked on it,but also did have a lot of forgettable songs too.

I thought the concept of Stan 2 was dope.

This new song with the video was a great idea

But,I don't necessarily need those big spectacle songs from Em in 2020.

I kinda wish he'd just make a bunch of hardcore rappity rap songs with no concept and hardcore evil sounding dark beats.

And it feels like he's been overcompensating for the bolded by just rappin super fast

I know that everybody doesn't get into the fast rap,but for me on a technical level, sometimes what he's doing is almost inhuman as far as being able to be lyrical and that fast.

But sometimes even doing some amazing shit can be not as pleasing as more simple shit.

jus skimmed thru it. 1st 2 songs are fire. everything else was meh. He's flowing his ass off, but dude is naturally corny. Stepdad tho? LOL! Farewelll….LMAO!!!!!

We all know he can rap his ass off... he's shown it time and time again. I doubt anyone is questioning his ability to put words together.

But look at the folks that can do that fast rap shit... Tech N9ne, Twista, Busta, hell Bone Thugz... they at least switch up the forumla.

Em.... not so much. Feels like he made rap god all them years ago and was like fuck it... this is my go to from now on

Nah the way he rapped on rap god isn't how he rapped on Lucky You with Joyner or other songs where he did double time.

And besides Tech even Twista, while the coldest at the shit IMO,lacks subject matter within it.

Em is still being super technical while rapping fast as fuck.

Bone don't really rap fast to me like the others you mentioned.

I didn't get to Farewell I don't think. Didn't like Stepdad though. That's part of his failure to evolve to me. His daughter is 24. He could be a grandpa in the near future and he's still rapping with teen angst. That hook was baddd.

You know what though? I think if he took the role of telling the story from the outside, rather than choosing to be the little kid I'd like it more.

That's what you asked. Maybe it's not what you meant. You said no one comes at him for his music not maturing, despite his last 4 albums being questionable. Then you said why is this?

I told you the reason it's because he's not relevant and most people don't hear his music. The less people that hear music, the less critics it'll have.

You made it sound like you thought eminem was being held to a different standard, and that's why you see more eminem criticism. I'm just saying I think it has more to do with Redman being heard way less. Jay's music has matured, and he's criticized more than Redman too.
Jay Z makes way better albums than Eminem ,it's not even close . Jay has never ever put out an album that is musically terrible as Eminem Revival.

Agreed. I was just using him as an example that more fame/listeners is going to mean more criticism. And that's why Em will get more criticism than Redman.

That is true the general public doesn't listen to Redman as much as Eminem so the criticism is going to seem like more

He ain't talkin about the general public. He's talkin about folks online. U literally never see it.

Majority of the internet does not listen to Redman as much as Eminem, so any criticism Redman is going to get is going to be small to insignificant compared to Eminem
