Do You Separate The Artist From The Person?

I only listen to roots and culture. I don't even listen to dancehall. I truely expect all the artist that I listen to abide by Rastafari and the beliefs. I have trouble listening to Jah Cure because I am not sure if he did what he was accused and convicted of. Everyone said he is innocent and the girl lied but I am not sure.
 
It's just not in music, Jon Jones is a fuck up in every way from being a crack head, multiple run ins with the law and other shit but tomorrow night I'm watching his fight and hoping he wins.

All the problems Robert Downey Jr has but when the new Avengers movie come out I'm right there watching with everyone else.

I'm gonna be 100% honest here, I don't have one..........like I've had google music, and tidle on and off for the past 2-3 years at this point. Haven't bought an album since so it's not like they're making large amounts of money off of me paying 9.99 a month to hear their music.

Here's a short list of some of fav artist who have done or said horrible things:

Jimmy Page (allegedly kidnapped a young teen)
James Brown (Wife beater)
Eric Clapton (Racist rants)
Chuck Berry (Smashed teens)
Dre (Women beater)
GFK (misogynist)
Lennon (wife beater)

I'm in the same camp as you unfortunately. hard to keep up with them all.

chuck berry did what most of them were doing in the 60s. they didn't see smashing 16yr olds as all that different to smashing 18yr old groupies.

I'll most likely stop supporting someone if they were fuckn w/ kids. But why would I stop supporting Tiger Woods(for example) cuz he cheated on his wife. The fuck that got's to do w/ making a chip shot on 18 at the masters.

Even though Bobby Womack was a scumbag, I still listen to dude.

As I listen to older R&B and go into their lives, they were, if not, more fuck'd up than the current rappers/R&B singers today.

James Brown use to beat the shit outta Tammy Terrell but I still feel like a hero/invincible to the world when the bass line to the song "Payback" comes on
