DMX Passes Away (RIP Earl "DMX" Simmons, Long Live X)

Man... I really am hoping for the best but I don’t got a good feeling about tomorrow.

As DMX continues to fight for his life in the White Plains hospital’s ICU department, Funkmaster Flex is calling out the music industry for their failure to help in preventing his hospitalization.

During a recent interview with Page Six, Flex criticized industry insiders, specifically those who were aware of his issues, for not providing additional assistance during X’s times of need.

“The music business is a gorilla. It’s a bottomless pit of happiness or depression...,” he said. “You don’t always get the best help when money is being made. It’s rough for someone like a DMX who may be in a mental and emotional state of childhood trauma that has happened to him and then being thrown into the money and fame.”

Unfortunately, DMX’s well known struggle with mental illness resulted in a drug overdose-turned-heart attack that landed the emcee in the hospital on Friday night (April 2). The news of his grave condition was met with a plethora of social media posts, some of which Flex took issue with as he believes some people show up on social media but fail to do the same in person.

“People can find the picture… that they had with the person that’s going through a tragedy in 30 seconds,” said Flex, “but you haven’t called that person in 10 years.”

“Let me see the picture of you when you went afterwards to his house because you was so concerned. I never see that picture where they go to the house,” he continued. “Nipsey Hussle passed away, and every washed up rapper made a pilgrimage to LA to go to the Marathon store to take a picture or to get their cards swiped. Bro, Nipsey needed that support when he was alive.”

DMX is currently in grave condition. Some of his children flew into New York to see him, and his mother, Arnett Simmons, and fiancée, Desiree Lindstrom, remain by his side.

This shit is wack af to me. Just not the time to be putting out this type of energy.

Fuck flex but he's right

People were roasting the shit outta P when he was alive

But when he died it was a lot of fake love

Dude had a deadly disease and mfs love playing hit em up with pac clowning it.

I'm sure none of them except for Havoc visited him I'm the hospital whenever his disease was acting up

You really feel like folks shouldn't have played Hit'em up? If a person was a fan or friend of Prodigy that song is a no go?

Nah but the mocking of his sickle cell is kinda foul if you his friend.

There was a big thing about Pusha dissing 40s MS

But people just laugh at pac talking about Ps sickle cell

Not only that but some people get so deep in their addiction they don't wanna come out. Not saying that's X but nobody knows whats happening behind closed doors.

Exactly. Flex giving out some basic/generalized speech. The reality is that an addict can be a very difficult person to be around or separated him/herself from those tryinta help them at times. Not saying this is specifically what happend w X. If u ever had a loved one struggle w addiction, you understand there are times when they just go off to they own world and u have to love them from afar.
I truly hope X pulls thru, but knowing his history and his struggle w relapse. This was always in the cards. Hope he gets outta this and this is the wake up call for better days ahead.

Hearing they're doing a brain test and depending on the result the family will have to start making a decision.

I wouldn’t say all that bruh
I liked Canibus' sophomore album musically, but he never got that push from the industry he got before that LL beef.

Wyclef stopped fucking with him in the midst of all that shit.

Yes he has gone on to make many projects his fanbase likes and have an indie presence but that shit derailed him.

Canibus was getting a major mainstream push for an underground lyricist type.

LL pulled a punk move on Canibus if we all bein' real.

DMX killed that shit
Nah Canibus was being slick and there was some extra bars on the original version where I always thought Canibus was throwing darts at LL.

Then that verse caused the beef between Eminem and Bis because Canibus' heard Eminem wrote it or helped write it but he didn't.

Dmx' s verse is hard though.
