Columbia professor: I do heroin regularly for 'work-life balance'

OK, here’s another “stretch”.

I’m pretty sure you can’t be charged for admitting you’re in possession of child pornography, but it just seems kinda stupid to admit to it.... Especially as a teacher.

Of course it is. An accountable institution would question his ability to properly do his job. But this wasn't what I was countering. U said it could land him in prison. It wouldn't.

No.. Not ADMITTING it...

Being in POSSESSION of it could land him in prison.

That’s what I meant.

Him admitting to being in possession of something that could land him in prison...

Ok my bad, I interpreted it wrong.
I agree, it's stupid all around to needlessly incriminate himself. But I guess he sees it as taking an honest stand.

I'm more surprised that he would admit to it publicly.
Most non-blue collar jobs have an unspoken don't ask, don't tell, and don't flaunt policy.
It's not unusual to find hard liquor in the lobby or someone's office for instance.
That's not including some activities that come with interacting with clients outside of the office.
Drug tests are mostly non-existent as well.
All despite several incidents of wreckless employees ODing in bathrooms or stinking the place up with weed.

But beyond that, functional addicts are nothing new.

I can't rock with legalizing this poison bruh. I'm the same nigga that think cigarettes should be illegal and outlawed though.

“There aren’t many things in life that I enjoy more than a few lines by the fireplace at the end of the day,” he writes, pointing out that the experience leaves him “refreshed” and “prepared to face another day.”

lmao. bruh... you're a heroin addict. don't try to make that shit sound cool.

He was just on some show I was watching the other day but I can't remember what it was. I think he is well renowned. Prolly not after his statement tho. lol
He was on that Crack documentary on Netflix

Niggas like this are scared to live. They'd rather risk their life chasing a high than be a LITTLE overwhelmed by work. All that "I need to unwind" shit. Don't mind me, I'm only speaking from a perspective of someone whose family was torn apart by ONE dose of heroin.

Horrible message to send to young people...."look you can be successful AND do dope" FOH man..not everyone got that type of impulse control or responds to using substances the same. Mix that w the fact that heroin is now basically fentanyl and more deadly than ever, is just a dumb statement to make.

Recreational heroin use sounds WILD. However...I'm not the one who has spent 30 years studying dependency and the like. So yeah.

Making all drugs legal would collapse health care.

That H ain’t no joke.

Some should be legal though.
