Capitalism vs Socialism

I really don't understand how this is even a question. The best run countries in the world as far as we can measure and social democracies. They always come at or near the top of country rankings. So that's clearly the best system. It just has to be tailored accordingly. I'm not saying we could just take Norway or Sweden's system and apply it to the U.S. This is a very different country. But we could certainly take inspiration from some of the things they do well and try to do them here too.

I think capitalism is too advanced for our society. Its like technology we weren't ready that destroys us rather than assists us. The way we use capitalism, it breeds greed. It makes no sense that some sit on resources and money that can be benefiting society. Essentially we are too divided for capitalism to not become unhealthy competition.

To some extent both rely on textbook definitions of the terms and don't account for how they are realistically implemented.

The second one was written by a koolaid drinking idiot. The fact that someone would say capitalism necessitates competition that leads to lower prices at a time when corporations have been caught using real inflation to upcharge unimpacted products and using AI to price fix on apartment rents and grocery prices. Then he poo poos government regulations as if the government is just arbitrarily telling companies what to do with products rather than stopping those companies from using harmful practices (e.g., putting harmful chemicals in food to preserve it so that it can be on the shelf longer) to cut costs. As a result, he gets to claim we get better products by ignoring all the crazy things companies do to those products to raise profit. The whole insinuation that government assistance leads to duopolies or monopolies is crazy. Mom and Pops stores don't go out of business when Walmart comes to town because of food stamps. They go out of business because Walmart screws over its vendors and workers in a way that those small stores can't and gets all kinda government subsidies that local stores don't, which allows them to sell their products at much lower prices. Lastly, it's funny how even in his scenario, he acknowledges that there are people that can't afford the products even with the "better quality at lower costs." He craps on the government's way of handling that problem, but never actually provides an idea for the correct solution to that problem.
