It was deep satire....

And the problem with deep satire... Those who aren't invested into the commentary only see the ridiculousness in it...

Dave Chappelle walked away from his show, cuz he felt the audience only saw the silliness, they weren't really catching the thought behind the jokes...I think something similar happened with Aaron mcgruder with boondocks....

At the end of the day, it's comedy... It's not supposed to be taken seriously.... Which is why satire is so dangerous.... Because the discussions about the jokes... Are very very serious.

Personally I thought RDJ understood the assignment and delivered that performance very well. However I also understand that doing that shit is crazy bold and you gotta deal with any blowback that comes with it.

So.... It is what it is....🤷🏿‍♂️

To me it's more equal to what Eddie Murphy did on SNL with the bank skit in white face.

It technically wasn’t black face.

He wasn’t playing a black character, he was playing the role of a goofy white actor who takes his job way too seriously and actually lives the roles he plays in movies.

The sheer ridiculousness of that scenario is what made it funny.
