Welcome To aBlackWeb

Active shooter at Texas Robb Elementary school with 19 kids and 2 Adults dead, 18 year old shooter killed

u say that underlined with confidence

as if some other solution besides various forms of gun control have been implemented

nothing has been done over the years EXCEPT various forms of gun control

yet schools are still wide open for anyone to just walk into SMH
What gun control are you talking about? Guns have become easier to purchase in some states. There has been no federal legislation which is what we need.

And there’s been a lot done at schools. They are not wide open. Most already have one point of entry. Most you have to be buzzed in. Most have a School Resource Officer. Most have active shooter drills and training.

So I don’t know what you mean.

The FEDERAL law is that every gun purchased through a licensed dealer has to go through an NICS background check. This has been on the books since 1998. The loophole is that private sales don't have to go through those checks except in states that require it. I've said it earlier in this thread: Here in Nevada ALL gun sales, commercial or private, are required to be run through a federal background check. You have to meet at a licensed dealer, the gun is temporarily transferred to the FFL holder (the shop), the ATF paperwork is filled out by the buyer and submitted by the dealer. Then if it comes back clean the gun is then transferred to the buyer and they're charged the necessary fees for the transaction. This is how ALL gun sales across the country should happen; I also said this earlier in this thread.

what has been done at the Federal level regarding school safety?

and SMH at saying most schools have a school resource officer........this simply isn't true

and ironically 1 SRO isn't enough anyway...........and active shooter drills are not standard across the board

now ask me how I know when I actually have kids in a public school system right now

this entire post here shows that @TheNightKing isn't really aware that the only "solutions" so far implemented at the Fed level have only been various forms of gun control

why are banks and most federal buildings more secure than our schools if we really want safety

gun control advocates just won't be honest about their true agenda 🙁

Ya boy named 1 federal law passed in 1998. Meanwhile, schools have had to do school shooter drills, hire resource officers, etc. Yeah it’s not federally mandated but a lot of systems do it out of necessity because guns are too easy to get.

And how do you think I know about these things? I have 3 kids in the public school system right now. So don’t try to act like you know better.

My only agenda is to keep my kids from dying a bloody, brutal death because some 18 year old psychopath can get a gun. If we could stop that random psycho from getting one I wouldn’t give a fuck who had how many guns. I own a gun my damn self! A 9mm Ruger. I’m not anti-gun, I’m anti child killing. And y’all mental health, militarize school shit is the only solution you can come up with and that has been proven to not work. 19 officers outside a classroom with a shooter and they ain’t do shit.

You can’t change people, but you can change their access to killing machines.

Then why do you refuse to acknowledge that mental health red flags need to be implemented nationwide instead, as I suggested earlier? I even said that NY has such a system in place and that's a starting point for a federal law. If family, teachers, cops, or a judge thinks you need to be evaluated because you exhibit signs of mental instability, take away the ability to buy a gun and if you already have guns, confiscate them all until such a time that you have gone through therapy and are cleared by a professional.

The vast majority of shooters where known to have been mentally unstable. A "red flag" system would have prevented those shootings especially since most of them were over 21 years old.

Calling someone mentally unstable is so vague tho.

If you get thrown out of a club by a bouncer. Feel disrespected and angry. You run to your trunk, pull out the strap and come back shooting. Technically you are mentally unstable at the time. But you weren't mentally unstable 3 weeks before when you bought the strap from the pawn shop legally.

^^^ it's all right there.

Not so oddly enough, there has been a steady rise in these types of mass shootings ever since Regan got rid of government mental institutions.

I get all that. My point tho is you don't have to be crazy to go crazy.

When a person is crazy, mad, depressed enough to wanna kill people, he, she or they are gonna grab guns to do it. Guns don't kill people. People kill people. WITH GUNS.

Stay safe.

We can do what we can do. There's no way to account for every single "what if?" scenario, but we have the ability to handle this since we have the data on it. Flag folks that present a danger to themselves and anyone else so they can't buy, much less possess, a gun of any type. And, as NY's order states, there will be checks in place to make sure the right people are flagged (due process). But I'd go a step further; while this is going through the process, you can't buy or own a gun.

Never refused to acknowledge it, I said do it ALL. Mental health, red flags, SRO’s, AND raise minimum age to purchase. You the only one leaving one huge piece out of the equation. You the only one being unreasonable because to you there is no need for any gun control.

If the vast majority of legal gun owners ain't out there shootin' up spots and only the crazy asses are doing that, do we really need gun control or people control???

My guns ain't never aired out a spot. None of my peoples have either. Millions of people own millions of guns and none of them have shot up anything other than paper and steel targets. Some might have killed a rabbit, fox, deer, elk or some shit like that but that's about it.

But a crazy muhfucka gets a hold of a gun and does crazy muhfucka shit and its "ban guns!!!".

Does that even seem logical???

Bro, you in here (and the other thread) fighting the good fight. I can't een do it no more.

Arguing about gun control with ppl in these type of incidents is useless to me. Its too emotional of a topic and gun control advocates can't see any logic over their feelings.

I get it, when shit like this happens its heartbreaking. But we still have to have logic and understand banning guns wont do shit when theres millions or tens of millions of guns out here already with no way to round them up. So theres still guns out here to be stolen amd illegally sold. The most logical and simpliest first step is to make sure nut jobs cant just run up in schools in the first place.

And for the "we dont want our kids feeling like they're in prison" crowd, you think somebody can simply run up in the school your favorite piece of shit politician send his or her kids to?

Let alone black ppl arguing for gun control when we know laws typically get enforced on us at disproportional rates in a country that we always talking about is oppressing and killing us (and it is).

Props to you for trying to have a logical, reasonable amd informative conversation.

Yes, because you can’t control people. But you can control who gets guns. And if you can’t weed out the crazies from the responsible, the logical conclusion is to keep them away from everybody.

But like I said, no give from the gun rights folks side. Do everything BUT restrict access to certain guns/accessories/ammo. So they can target shoot, smh.

Maybe have background checks be similar to the ones they do when you are going for a secret clearance? Those checks are very detailed and long. They talk with your references, old jobs, neighbors. They go back I think 10 years of your history. They check where you live and where you use to live. School history is looked at. Overseas travel is looked at. Finance, marriage, criminal history, medical history, drug or alcohol abuse and some other things. Some checks even do a lie detector... At least for a top secret clearance. It also takes a few months depending how much history you have. The investigators talk with you and your references. If you got cracks in your wall of history, you aint getting that job.

I dont know, just throwing out ideas. Those checks are costly but im sure some kind of deal can be worked out between the company and state.

I think it will be too costly, but so will militarizing every single school in the US.
