ABW Home Improvement (DIY, Hacks, etc...) Thread

Looking to redo my bathroom. I ended up copping a rotary hammer offa amazon so I can do some of the demo myself to save some bread. Mainly for removing the old tile from the walls and floor. Debating if I want to get rid of the tub altogether and have a standing shower for the bathroom instead

Which would you use more? A tub or shower? That would be the answer.

The person that owned this house before I did was an old woman. At some point she had the regular tub removed and had one of those walk-in tubs with the massage jets and shit installed but, thankfully, left the standing shower intact. One of these days I'mma have that tub replaced with something "normal".

I prefer the walk-in standing joints personally. Only reason i'm debating is cuz if I rent the place out it might limit the pool of potential tenants that might want a bathtub instead. Ima cost it out though to see what it would take to replace the tub as compared to getting a walk-in put in

Any of yall removed tree stumps from your yard? Cut down like 3-4 trees but the stumps are still there.

A tree grinder aint really an option.. I tried some epsom salt to the stump but im sure its still gonna take a while before it dies off doing it that way

If it's too small to grind down then drill holes and add sugar

It might take a season to get it fully rotted to the point where you can just take a shovel but that will also do the trick

Props. I put epsom salt in that shit the other day. Of course its raining like crazy today. lol Was hoping for something to kill it a bit quicker. Im trying to put a wall up and that shit is in the way. Might have to chop out the roots and stump myself

Try drilling the holes and putting sugar in them like I recommended

The ants and other shit out there will eat it up

any of yall ever try putting frosted window film for windows? Got a small bathroom window but it's not frosted so im thinking of getting some film to achieve the same effect

It's just like tint

I've done this (not the frost) to my front door where the sun hits first in the morning

I have some oil paintings hanging in that entry way and didn't want the sun to be beating down on them

It's very easy to do

Apartment is almost done with renovations 😭

it's been a long(expensive) road but i'm happy with how things are shaping up. Im just a lil nervous about finding a good tenant
