2020 NFL Offseason Thread

The Dolphins are jettisoning another former first-round defensive end, this time it’s one of their own.

According to Jason Butt of TheAthletic.com, the Falcons are trading an undisclosed draft pick for Dolphins pass-rusher Charles Harris. PFT has confirmed the deal.

Harris, their 2017 first-rounder, had 3.5 sacks in his first three seasons with the Dolphins.

The Dolphins released 2019 sack leader Taco Charlton yesterday. He had five sacks for them last year after being claimed off waivers from the Cowboys.

They signed Emmanuel Ogbah and Shaq Lawson in free agency, and clearly wanted a new look.

The Falcons signed Dante Fowler Jr. in free agency, but still needed to add to their pass-rush group.
UPDATE 8:58 a.m. ET: According to Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com, the pick going back to Miami is a 2021 seventh-rounder.

I think my point is still being misunderstood. Here are the backups during the Brees/Payton and Brady/Belichick eras. If sitting behind and learning from great players is all it's hyped up to be, why didn't these players have impressive careers? I didn't feel like going through the list, but add Big Ben, Peyton, and Rodgers' backups and it's still a bunch of unimpressive careers from a list of probably 40 - 50 players.

Brees
Jamie Martin (2006 - 2007)
Mark Brunell (2008 - 2009)
Chase Daniel (2009 - 2012, back again in 2017)
Ryan Griffin (2013 - 2014)
Luke McCown (2013 - 2016)
Garrett Grayson (2015 - 2016)
Matt Flynn (2015)
Teddy Bridgewater (2018 - 2019)
Taysom Hill (2017 - current)

Brady
Rohan Davey (2002 - 2004)
Damon Huard (2001 - 2003)

Jim Miller (2004)
Matt Cassel (2005 - 2008)
Doug Flutie (2005)
Matt Gutierrez (2007 - 2008)
Kevin O'Connell (2008)
Brian Hoyer (2009 - 2011 and back 2017 - 2018)
Ryan Mallett (2011 - 2013)
Jimmy Garoppolo (2014 - 2017)
Jacoby Brissett (2016)

Pretty amazing that San Fran has been able to build a Super Bowl caliber team considering they fucked off not one but two 1st round picks in 2017. That usually cripples a franchise

It helps when you have two 1st round picks in not only 17, but 16 and this years draft (more margin for error). Solomon had/has all the attributes of a good 3 technique, but he's just been "meh" with all that talent around him. It's weird.

When you hit on Armstead and Bosa tho, it makes those misses almost seem irrelevant. I know they would've liked to keep Buckner, but you can't keep everybody.

I don’t think you understand how hard it is for a team to actually come across a HOF QB..

It seem like you borderline want Jameis to be unsuccessful because he’s no longer with your team..

Who in here wears glasses?

I know I do and I remember I went to the gym to just work out and a few folks asked to come hoop. I said okay.

didn’t have my contacts on me so I tried to hoop without them and was bricking every fucking shot.
