2019 NFL Off-Season Thread

most drills are trash but the short drills and them 10 yard split is crucial to see if a player has the tools athletics wise to play the next level.

Technique and short area quickness is crucial for CB and WR which I think DB as a whole have the most to gain at the combine.

A dude can look quick in college but tape lies all the time

You learn shit about a O or Dlineman or QB at the combine

Doesn't lie as much as workouts and drills do.

Like I said both drills and tape are important. I'm just putting more stock and value on what I see on tape than what I see in drills and workouts.

Of course,

But for a lot of shit tape can lie

There is a reason every year during the combine folks say and talk about who is going to be this years workout warrior get overrated and which GM is going to draft that player way too high.

I still haven't heard from combine folks which players tape is going to lie and get them drafted way too high.

I'm not saying tape is perfect and doesn't lie. Again all I'm saying is that I put more stock and value in whats on tape than I do workouts and drills. Regardless of them both being important. I value one(tape) higher than the other(workouts).

I look at it like this

Tape is better for evaluating the actual FOOTBALL skills and how they translate to the next level

The workouts confirm the players ability to compete athletically at the next level if that makes sense

also @AP21 you should probly move our Tape vs Workouts posts to the thread you created

Makes plenty of sense.

I would even add to the workouts part is that IMO folks are looking to confirm what they've seen on tape or show them somethings that weren't easily seen on tape whether its good or bad for said player.

I’m talking about specific drills. Turn and run and shuttle drills.

All that other shot like the 40 And suit is useless

We need to make this happen.

2 options imo....

Trade back to 6 with the Giants for 2 2nds and a 4th. And Hope Quinnen Williams fall to 6 and draft him.

or trade all the way back to 10 with the Broncos for 2 1sts and a 3rd. And draft the best OT available, prolly Jawaan Taylor. Or if we go defense, draft Clelin Ferrell. If he falls to 10.

Then of course use all the extra picks for the next two years to build around Sam Darnold.

@5th Letter

btw with those extra mid rd picks. low key holla at the Jags n see what they are willing to give up for Jalen Ramsey.

Keeping hope alive lol. It's not happening.
