Is This The Cause For Griselda's Buzz Dying Down?

The target audience for that sound has moved on to othe genres maybe and their inital buzz was based off nostalgia....??just guessing....its good music whenever you want to listen to authentic golden age sounding hiphop.

they were older rapper to start? and they still do the drug dealing../pseudo gangsta rap? who want to ingest that energy daily at 40 plus

I saw this tweet too

Whatever the reason is Iā€™m happy

As someone on the outside looking in, didnā€™t they start to fall off as soon as they went to shady or w/e?

Not quality wise but just being present in the minds of the culture.

Fundamentally, an issue I think is they all make music thatā€™s in a certain lane and has the same kinda bop or vibe

This is fine but what makes it not fine is they all collectively release way too much music

So much so itā€™s hard to differentiate

None of these niggas (Iā€™m talking about the main 3) shouldā€™ve ever released more than 1 project a year or had more than 10 songs on any project

Think about back in the day, letā€™s pick an artist like shit idk young Jeezy

You hear a song and you instantly know what project itā€™s from and the songs individually stand out

You can play a Benny song and thereā€™s a big chance you have no idea what project itā€™s from without looking into it unless youā€™re DIEHARD

(Imagine 7 Griselda projects coming out in 2020 alone lol)

Forgot the Shady connection

Yeah, it was doomed from the start

They were never gonna sell like Drake, and that's fine. Their careers were built and sustained off respect, credibility, consistency and the aura surrounding them. Conway's story alone makes him an icon. Benny is the Lloyd Banks of the group with more work ethic, in that his style will age gracefully as the years go by. Outside the main 3, that roster got monsters. Boldy, Rome, and Armani will always be staples in the underground (again, a good thing) and Stove got the potential to break out into the mainstream.

I mean I remember a while ago saying that as much as I liked them they had a low ceiling depending on what you define as ā€œsuccessā€. Put these dudes in the rap game pre the 2010s & they would have been golden for a long while.
