Is Kamala Harris The Best Candidate For Black People?

IMO, it comes off as pandering with Kamala because she seems to feel like she has to prove to us that she's one of us. The transparency of her doing that is what makes her seem like she's not one of us. I don't know. She just seems awkward every time she posts a pic of her doing something "black" or pops up on a black outlet.

I never said Obama pandered. I think to some extent he is what he portrayed. He just played up the black "cool factor."

Sure, but she's probably not relatable to the average African American person. Her background is different, and now she's rich and lives a life that most of us would find out of touch. I don't really know how to put it in words, but we all know the difference between someone like Queen Latifah who is also rich but came from a place we understand to someone like Kamala. Again with me, one appears normal when she interacts with regular black people. The other comes off as awkward. That's just my perception though and not based off anything factual.
I can definitely see your point when it comes to Kamala, but she’s chosen to be around black people, at least in college, which is a critical time in a person’s development. So I can’t discount that knowing how HBCU’s and sororities roll.

Maybe she was awkward then too and this awkwardness is just who she is.

I don't believe in politicians. They're salesmen and women. It's like WWE... They just trying to go over with the crowd so they always say what they think you want to hear to get the sale...I mean vote
Understood🫱🏿‍🫲🏾

I tend to agree with this as well. My main point with Kamala has been that she’s not as bad as people are portraying her to be. Some of it isn’t even based in fact, just memes, sound bites, and projection.

The vibe I get from Kamala is

" If y'all gonna eat this shit up and vote for me, then imma keep feeding y'all bullshit with no fucks given🤷🏿‍♂️"

Her policies has already did direct harm when she was in cali
The only things I’ve heard people mention is her going against letting non violent offenders with simple possession charges out of prison.

And her truancy stance.

How else did she do an injustice to black people?

When folks talk about her policies can yall actually name them? Like what they were and how they affected people? Or is it just one of those broad generalizations? Because folks will talk the "she locked up people for weed" stuff, which is a lie, but also ignore things she spear headed like the Back on Track program which helped out many too.

Funny thing about the not letting people out and non violent offenders critique is...project 47 and actually has decreaaed California's prison population by tens od thousands, also pissed off conservatives because they said it wasn't tough enough on crime and let too many folks who "should've been locked up" go free.

Before Biden dropped out all his supporters made the point that "it's not just about the president anyway we're also voting for the ppl around him"

That hasn't changed just bc they replaced his face w Kamala's.

I say that to say, "not as bad" is trivial. Whatever "bad" is that you're comparing her to, she's a willing participant of that system that rewards those. Not just a willing participant, she wants to be the face of it.

So you just against the system. I assume you don’t vote then, which is fine, not judging on either count.

But the system will always be there. It’s just a matter of who is most likely to help us in that system.
