Welcome To aBlackWeb

Creed was a better story because there was more of a journey and character development.

I felt more connected to Adonis, his struggles, his short temper, his determination, his passion. I felt the development of his girl. Her going deaf, yet wanting to be a singer touched me. I used to go to school in Philly and I loved that city as a back drop. And I was legit cheering for homie the end.

BP was cool, but most of the movie took place in like 2 or 3 days there was no real growth.... The whole James Bond scene was great action, and the heist was cool for dialogue. But again... There was no real development Imo. Just a series of events everybody reacted to.

It was definitely entertaining, but I feel Creed took me on a better ride.
Friday took place in exactly one day and you love it

What's your point

All subjective. But I'm not going to say the pandering to black Twitter is what made Black Panther more successful.

I'ma say the same thing I said in the other thread

Why is it considered black people are doing the most when they show up to support black films?

Du really thinks black Twitter is a thing
It's not fam. It's essentially a thread on Reddit. You can't put a face to black Twitter. There is no owner, no LLC, no paperwork, etc...

They are one corner of the internet that a few thousand people know

It did well because it was a good black movie, period.

Edit: Excellent black movie.
Bruh.

No one knew it was a good movie when they were planning parades at the theater. You being really closed minded.

It did as well as it did because black folk convinced themselves they were going to support it in large numbers regardless. The pre-release ticket sales were crazy. The hype amongst the black community was unprecedented.

This is all fact. You can't say the only reason it did that will was because it was a good movie. It was because the hype surrounding it was crazy.

Strawman argument at its best.

Where did I say I didn't like BP cuz it took place in one day. Why does your comment even suggest that??

I said CREED WAS THE BETTER MOVIE BECAUSE IT DID MORE TO SHOW GROWTH IN IT'S CHARACTERS WHERE THE BULK OF BP WAS THEM REACTING TO THE EVENTS OF ONE DAY

I actually explain my reasoning, and y'all stay trying to twist it. Then y'all accuse me of trolling.

Not once did I say BP was a bad movie, or I didn't like it.

I just pointed out why it made so much money, and broke down why it's not even coogler's best film. And from an action stand point I liked Creed better cuz he did more with the characters.

But go ahead and try to twist that up too

I said that they 100% purposely used the machine of black Twitter to create the hype surrounding the movie, and it worked marvelously.

Perfect execution of social media marketing to a target audience.

I'll give you first week or two ticket sales due to hype. But I believe the hype was warranted. There was nothing to suggest if wasn't going to be a great movie.

After that though sales were so good because the movie was good.

You're familiar with 2nd and 3rd week dropoffs. Didn't happen with Black Panther. Or Wonder Woman for that matter.

Or maybe the black Twitter hype was organic?

Social media marketing though retweets and viral memes is 100% a thing.

And people who know how to use it well are considerably ahead of their competition because it's an extremely powerful tool.

Which is funny that you are playing dumb to cuz I told you my plan of using the exact same technique to promote some shit like 2 years ago.

You don't think million and billion dollar movies don't have a team of people out here creating memes and pictures and various gifs to promote their movies?

Have you not even noticed that corporations like ESPN actually use those images on their official pages.

Like I can't believe for one second that posting on a site like this.. Where we have a long running thread of collected memes and pictures that the block community finds funny can't be generated into a profit.

It's like the whole reason for this site bruh.... Like holy shit how are you missing this??

Like I said.

There's no such thing as a billion dollar mistake.

If my book gets published, I can promise you I will pay cash money for the funniest an most viral meme a member can create to help me promote buzz for my book....

Cuz I'm smart and I know the shit works. Regardless if I'm good or not... Hype generated by creative marketing is always welcome.

Now imagine if I represented a billion dollar company.... You don't think there are people who think the same way??

Yes the movie was good.

It was very good.

But the spectacle around it was bigger. And it was created on purpose.

Many champagne glasses were tapped in celebration when they saw how massive the hype was even before the release

Wonder woman didn't over do it....

But they definitely did it...

Are you Fuckin serious

Do I really have to post all the numerous "think pieces and articles" done for Wonder Woman

Just go to Shitpost Huffington Post and search Wonder Woman. I guarantee at least 20 articles pop up saying this is the greatest thing for women.

For all the Captain Marvel is pandering to feminist shit that's been claim in here. Somebody should tell them that, cuz it's not get even a 3rd of the attention WW got.

Was it coogler's best movie?
Was it the best marvel movie?

The answer is no to both of those questions.

Was it a good movie?

Yes, absolutely.

But the spectacle over shadowed the actual product.

As Movie Creed is much better than BP. But we know BP made way more money...

And it's because of the spectacle surrounding it.

And very few. if any, claimed it to be Coogler's or Marvel's best.

Cuz wonder woman is a bigger character..... And the movie was a bigger deal.

But I don't think they dialed up the women empowerment to a thousand.

They were still complaining about a love interest, and the costume being to revealing.

Captain marvel don't even like men and she wearing a fucking bodysuit that ain't even tight.

This is definitely much more feminist friendly

You don't need to think, you can know. Google

Captain marvel got none of them issues.

Why?

Pandering....
