Welcome To aBlackWeb

Who else they got outside of them two, maybe Steel and Static Shock? Black lightning maybe since the show boosted the spotlight on the character a bit.
with as big as aqua man is, and knowing black manta is the villian in the next movie....

some shit just writes itself...smh

Id support a Static Shock movie if done right..
static and kaldur'ahm could both be HUGE on the big screen if done right....

a movie where kaldur has to chose between his father and aquaman could be so fucking epic it would have to be told in a 3 or 4 movie arc

not a movie

Big screen/small screen, pandering is pandering.

we been due for a film like that.
i agreed with everything but that sentiment...

we get tons of good black movies...and somehow mention of this movie overshadows those accomplishments

yes it was a good movie..... but we weren't due for shit..

that's like saying we were "due" movies like the creed series...

they're good movies, but we don't have to attach any kinda superficial cliche prestige to them for them to be appreciated. let them stand on their own merit

Marvel panders

"According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marvel is expecting Shang-Chi, also known as the heroic Master of Kung Fu in the Marvel universe, to “break out in a way similar to Black Panther earlier this year”.

Hollywood, the online publication said, was coming to realise the importance of Asian identity following this summer’s box office hit Crazy Rich Asians."

So why didn't Marvel have this same energy when casting Iron Fist?

Neither of them has been established in the MCU.

Exactly, so I don't see why you feel Monica would make more sense. Carol being the current Captain Marvel in the comics makes here a more sensible choice. Don't get me wrong. I want Monica to be in the MCU, but it makes more sense to bring her in as Photon, Pulsar, or Spectrum.

I meant in terms of a black superhero movie. White ppl been saving the day forever. It was cool to see how geeked the young black kings were to finally see something like that. My 4 yr old basically said fuck spiderman. Hell he still walking round talkin bout Wakanda forever lol

The movie studio and the TV studio aren't run by the same people?

Shrugs

What are we even talking about now?

Personally, I'm intrigued to see what all this movie covers since the trailers have been very light on story and characters.
