The early word on Netflix numbers for WWE Monday Night Raw is that they are great, but the streamer is still getting the numbers together. There's a lot of excitement in both WWE and Netflix circles about the numbers, so we'll see when they release them how excited they really are.
Raw is listed as #1 on Netflix currently.
We heard from a lot of entertainment industry types who attended the taping and were amazed at how into everything the live crowd was, given Los Angeles has the reputation for being a late arriving and early exiting crowd, but as they were truly paying attention to the live WWE experience, they were seeing fans who were invested in everything and were there until the bitter end.
For those who have asked, we are told there were no injuries last night. It would appear CM Punk was selling after his match with Seth Rollins.
For those who have asked about this, Becky Lynch was not there and was not factored into creative for the show. There are a lot of names, including Becky, who will be returning in future weeks and WWE wants to make the most out of maximizing those moments and introducing those characters to the Netflix crowd.
It's a new world and last night's show was as much an infomercial to introduce new viewers to the world of WWE as much as anything else - and that was very much by design, right down to the formula of using older names (The Rock, Undertaker, etc.) as a way to give the current stars the rub of importance for viewers who aren't keenly aware of the week to week stories but know who the major players of the past have been.
Internally, there was a lot of praise for Joe Tessitore, Big E and Wade Barrett for their work on the Raw Post Game Show.
There were also a lot of people internally impressed with the level of a pop Tiffany Stratton received last night.
Add Kieran Culkin and Kelly Osbourne to the list of celebrities in attendance last night.
Former WWE star CJ "Lana" Perry was seen out with a number of WWE stars after the show, but I haven't heard she was at Raw.
