Shit still ain't gotta be Gucci tho. A $100 outfit for a lil kid is more than enough. And truthfully, they don't care unless we make them care. I ain't give nary a fuck about shit like that until we moved to Tha D, where the parents of kids I went to school with made their kids materialistic as fuck. There was a stark contrast between 13-14 year old kids in Saginaw and Flint in '85 and kids the same age in Detroit. In The Tri-Cities (Bay City, Saginaw, and Midland) and Flint; "nice clothes" came from JC Penny's or Sears. In Detroit they came from Saks, Gucci, Bally, Coogi, or shit like that. Niggas in Saginaw was wearing Kangaroos and Pro Keds on their feet, in Tha D it was all about Top 10 Adidas (bonus if it was the patent leather joints), suede Puma Clyde's (I had a pair in grey and white), the original BK's, and to a lesser degree Reebok was acceptable. 13 year olds knew the difference between 14kt gold and gold plated shit and would call you out on it if ya chain looked funny.
The parents did that to their kids just like that little girl's parents are doing that shit to her.
Big cities are always like that. Parents aint to blame. If i see Gucci store or some high end shit eventually ill want it
