The revelations have once shot holes in another one of these claims that black men are just out there savaging women for no other reason than being told no. It's not cool that people keep pushing that false rhetoric, and it's not a common occurrence no matter how much the usual suspects in here want to claim it is.

At the end of the day, the dude that hit the chick needs to be thrown under the jail, and black women need stop being so quick to accept every perceived point of evidence that black men are the devil.

The only "gotcha moment" that could have possibly justified her getting hit with a brick would be her pointing a weapon at dude for trying to holler.

There's not attempt to justify it happening. Even the eyewitness cat said as much, EVERYONE HAS; there's no reason to hit her like that.

Having said that, instead of daring the nigga with a brick to hit you, maybe it's best to just walk away. If I dare a nigga holding a brick to hit me with it, and he does, why should I be surprised??? This is where common sense and situational awareness comes into play and it appears she has absolutely none.

From the sounds of it, she had every opportunity to walk away but willfully chose to engage this nigga. Had she simply kept it moving, I seriously doubt she would have been hit. In fact, the eyewitness said the dude didn't even pick up the brick until she had repeatedly insulted and denigrated him.

There are times where people 100% contribute to their becoming a victim. This appears to be one of them. Again, it's not a justification, it's an observation.

Perception isn't reality. Think about all the things that black men have been accused of and how many of them have been proven wrong as soon as actual data was available. At what point do we stop acting like anecdotal evidence from people who have experienced legitimate trauma is enough evidence to indict a whole group of people?

I'm not saying that it doesn't happen, and honestly it's one of those things that one incident is too much. I just think it's irresponsible to take these narratives and run with them unchecked, especially when we know that more often than not, they turn out to be untrue when light is shined on them.

Most of the muhfuckas ain't bussin shots, they ain't in the trap, they don't have the money, cars, or jewels they claim, all of that shit is fiction. So, we can call out the music these people make without it being about calling Black folks violent because the majority of the shit is all fairy tales.

You have never and will never see me agreeing with the concept or idea that Black men are inherently dangerous or any more dangerous. In fact you can see me arguing against that many times. What I do acknowledge though is that because the vast majority of Black men and women deal with only Black men and women then the vast majority of each others good and bad experiences with the opposite sex and what shapes their view of them will be through each other.

So when Black women start talking about their negative experiences with Black men I stopped personalizing it and realized they're talking about when they talk about their experiences with men the default will be Black men both good and bad. And regardless of how much I personally don't identify with alot of the bad shit they experience I won't dismiss their actual lived experiences by throwing out "well actually" stats that takes the humanity out of the discussion. And unfortunately there's far too many women who have similar stories about some foul shit happening to them that I can't dismiss as "well it ain't everybody so why even discuss it?". Same way when Race would go on her shit about Black men I'd counter her for the bullshit generalizations, I counter Black men too. Just so happens majority of this site is Black men so...

If taking the angle that his oft repeated sentiment takes...then Black men are the "face of violence" thanks to rap music. And given how often the topic of making Black men the face of negative things comes up it would possibly lead to the idea that by thinking so negatively of rap music then one would also think negatively of the Black men and women who participate in it.
