Guns in America

The implementation was perfect according to his and most 2-A folks POV. I can have my gun any and everywhere I’d like, fully loaded.

What’s the typical argument, soft targets need to be made hard targets? Well here you go, this is what that looks like.

nah only to self-entitled gun nut white dudes........he outta line

and he justifies why black people should be more comfortable with exercising their 2A rights

the fact he did that in front of a school (an elementary school at that) just shows he's an unstable asshole

dudes like him is why we continue to have unbalanced gun control debates

so because there are stupid people out there

no one can responsibly own a gun by ur logic?

but if I say there are a few criminals out there that justify me protecting myself

that isn't justification enough in ur eyes for me to maintain gun ownership

make it make sense bruh ☹️

You can buy Jack Daniels but you can’t buy home made moonshine.

You can get Ketamine Treatments from a license doctor but can’t buy it off the street

Some shit is restricted or taken out of the hands of all of us, cause of the idiocy of some of us

If you can’t reliably identify the stupid from the responsible, at least put some limits on it for everyone until you can.

What kills me about the anti-gun/anti-assault rifle perspective is that it does not address mental health. Simply banning guns won't fix the larger issues driving people towards violence. Taking away guns will lead to people using alternative means to inflict the same violence. I understand the argument that it's too easy to acquire a gun in some states, but that doesn't change that sick people will find a way, one way or another, to express their mental anguish through violence if that is their plan. Pretty much all of these mass shootings are well planned out. Take away the gun, well they still have time to plan and their issues to motivate them.

This argument has been made ad nauseam. Just read back through this thread and the other dozen threads about mass shootings.

Drug addicts are gonna find a way. Might as well legalize them.

People gonna drive with or without a license, might as well get rid of those too.

And since sick people would just find other methods of violence why not just legalize those right now since we can't stop them.

This story sadly, because of where the kids are from, hasn't gotten much traction outside the initial incident. This is the stuff I tell people to be aware of when they ask about PG County and the whole "richest Black county" reputation. These kids have long not given 2 fucks about throwing away their future over beefs.

One of those kids is from Suitland. I grew up in Suitland. Finding access to a gun there is easier than finding a McDonald's.

So how do you put that type of energy back in the bottle?

These kids are bypassing any law on the books. If accessing guns for them has always been easy and Maryland is notorious for its strict gun laws, what can be done?

And I’m not saying that nothing should be done, btw.

I don't have all the solutions but I know one is simply finding other, positive, ways for these kids to occupy their time. And around there they are actively doing shit to take away things for these kids to do. Idle time and teenagers has always been a bad combination
