Welcome To aBlackWeb

Rza should have been had hands put on him, dude making decisions for individuals without even talking to them

They surprised the hell out of me. I was sure this series would be trash, but every season turned out good. Rza should have had this team for all them other joints he produced/directed, and maybe they would have been good.

On the real though, I don't know how them dudes managed to survive. They all seemed like assholes in their own unique ways. lol

Yo these niggas is straight assholes! If I was RZA I woulda had to put paws on niggas. Funny how years later they all regret missing shows on this tour and shit

Rza was an asshole too. I know him and Divine had a vision, and they were right to push for that vision, but all those unilateral decisions they were making were crazy. You can't sign a 9 member band up for a national tour without talking to any of the other members and not expect that shit to go sideways at some point.

This season was good. When you think about it, they basically squeezed 5 years of time into the season. It's understandable why they did that, but it did lead to some weirdness. For example, all the complaining about playing to a bunch of white people on the Rage tour was out of place. I'm sure they went through that transition in real life, but there's no way that happened that late in the game.

Just watched the final episode

I'm sad to see it go but yeah this season was amazing and great sendoff

Favorite eps were criminology liquid swords the final episode and ODB's episode

+1 for the costume design. That was on point and all the clothing was accurate AF.

Initially didn't like the casting for Ghostface but the actor grew in his role through the years.

Can't say the same for Dave East lol

Gaa damn. Rae truly wasn't fuccin wit Rza's beats for that long??

These niggas was fuccin up tho. Aside from Divine and Rza...niggas had NO business acumen .

I didn’t like the final episode. It was ok, but it was anticlimactic to me.

I wish they had spent at least a montage or something on them making the Triumph song. Would have been dope to have them all in the studio like in the 1st season when they were making 36 chambers.

I know RZA used a lot of live instrumentation on Forever, but when you listen to the album it’s not at the forefront of the music so focusing on that so much fell flat. I may have missed it, but they didn’t even play any riffs that show up on the album.

Then the tour conflicts would have been cool in any episode other than the last. Instead of focusing the whole last episode on them beefing over the concert and album deals, wish it had been more of a celebration of their success.

Then the whole Soul Food scene at the end was very cliche. I’m sure it was intentional and I get it, but I think they could have done something better, like a series of flash forwards to what they did as a group and individually after Forever then end it with an actual clip of Wu Tang performing or something.

That said, still one of my favorite series ever.

Word…Rza can’t say “R’s” in real life…he got that Barbra Walters pronunciation lol and dude was pronouncing tha hell outta ‘em lol
Plus RZA’s choppy speaking cadence only works with his accent. With this dude it just seems out of place and forced.

lol It's funny how the series seems to be well received by fans and critics, but the actual Wu members don't have much good to say about it at all.
They probably just disagree with some of the embellishments. But you have to do that and create conflict for tv.

And I listened to that interview. He didn’t say he didn’t like it, just that he didn’t want to tarnish what he remembered of that time and criticize something knowing it had to embellish.

He picked Dave East personally to play him and each episode has Wu members credited as consultants.
