AMC - Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire (Season 2)

I might have missed the explanation but is there a reason Lestat can't hear the conversation between Louis and Claudia ?

Vampires cant hear the thoughts of the people they make.

Since Lestat made them both he cant hear either of their thoughts

So yeah, there was another vampire from the fang gang named killer.... He was actually black... That's why I didn't connect the dots.

But killer was actually nice ... So naturally fans are pissed they made him a white vampire rapist.....

It was cool name drop for a throw away character... Lol

Kiler and baby Jenks were two random ass vampires that only existed in the first chapter of Queen of the Damned. They did absolutely nothing but exist to get killed by Akasha. So to use Killer like this..a random vampire that meets and rapes Claudia.... Yeah that's way different... But more impactful to the development of Claudia.

Claudia never ventures off to college and all that.... That was 100% new for the show.... But like I was saying earlier... You can do shit like that with an older Claudia... Have get to to colleges.... Have her get raped and it's not horrific it as it would be to a 6 or 12 year old actress....

I love the touch of her not being able to make vampires. She never did that in the books either.... But it works because the book implies she didn't have enough blood or strong enough blood to turn someone. And she 100% ran into monsters like the one she created. And those are in the novels. What she made wasn't human clearly, but it wasn't fully a vampire....

It was essentially a zombie. It still drinks blood... But it can't turn any more than what it already was. And it definitely could not turn anything else. It has no intelligence. The book never calls them zombies.... But that's what they are

Man the internet did not like domestic violence Lestat....

They crying like shit

so the killing people for singing off key was ok with them but him giving Louie the beats is where they draw the line? lol
The part where he was apologizing to Claudia while still getting beat on broke them 🤣🤣🤣🤣

was she calmer in the books like she was in this latest episode or was she always unhinged and uncontrollable?

It happened much faster in the books, and she was much more vicious.

Louis was a wall flower the entire time. He just let them go at it and was in the corner scared AF...

There's a graphic novel by this chick Witter that perfectly tells her story, and shows how useless Louis was during their fights....

He at least tried to defend her in the show.... got beat for it... But he did try

I didnt mean during the fight I meant her demeanor in general. Its been a while since I seen the film but Kirsten Dunst was a petulant child the entire time. DIdnt seem like she really had the depth this Claudia has. I was curious if she got that level of depth in the books or if she was always this uncontrollable beast lol

The part about it, is I haven't watched the movie in a while, but I was reading the graphic novel....

But I feel like she was angrier in the novel. Mainly because they both made her. Louis fed on her, and Lestat turned her

There's a bunch of panels on Google if you wanna read

The book didn't have Louis family and work attachments. There were no side characters.

Plus the time period was different.

They did a smooth time jump of almost 60 years before the fights we got in this last episode.

They had mad happy years together but the book just skipped over the happy times episode 4 showed more than the novel. Them going to the movies. Lestat taking her hunting at the make out point.... All of that was glossed over in the novel for the most part. Those were really good scenes in the show that showed them all being happy instead of just saying they were together 60 years.

With the way the show going and them in the 1930's I don't expect a time jump at all....

I think it's still gonna be the 30's when they go to Europe. But it's weird.... Both novel and TV Claudia showed a lot of rage.... And I think she's getting there.. But this show is doing more to build the stakes.

Like we just saw without questions the two of them cannot take Lestat straight up. The book never showed the gap in power like that. Louis was just always scared for her cuz he wasn't sure Lestat could be killed, and thought he would destroy her if she tried.. But she was a little bully in the book.. Basically telling him to shut the fuck up and don't snitch her out while she plots on him

Also......and this is another level of the show... In the preview for 6, she says that she and Louis are Lestat's slaves.
And while that will slap different with him being white and them black...she100% used the same logic on him in the novels, and it hit Louis different cuz he was as a mortal man a slave owner.....

So there's a lotta levels they bout to unpack next week

i didnt really care when Claudia died in the movie... its gonna hit different in this series for me tho

It's not gonna happen until the end of season 2 at the earliest.

They already said they gonna milk the first book for the first two seasons

But you right, it's gonna slap different. Cuz this actress is amazing.

I just hope they do Akasha and Armand justice

but the best actor on the entire show won't show up until they do book 4 ... Tale of the body theif

Essentially "the vessel" has to play 3 separate characters.

The body theif Raglan James
Lestat himself for a bulk of the story,
And ultimately David at the end and going forward..... Even though many readers think David's character is what Daniel is now.

David was an older human who developed a very close relationship with Lestat. David was also a great investigator.. But very old. Many of his characteristics like standing up to and slapping Louis are very clearly David Talbot characteristics with David and Lestat's relationship
