I'm a ma make a shirt with black panther kneeling for the flag and sell it out side the theatre and in the streets. I bet I'll be cakin' lol

Yo seeing them kids dancing is giving me LIFE my nigga lol

The movie is just a movie to me, I don’t feel the need to use it to prove anything this way or that way and neither is their anything wrong with getting hype about it for whatever reason you feel like, it ain’t that serious either way.

Ok, @King Du might have a point. The movie got hoes crying. lol

But she has personal experiences that are especially unique to her that help her identify with certain aspects of the movie on a different level.

Plus, women are emotional creatures anyway. I don't think she said anything outta pocket, or displayed any of the ignorance that Du is talking about.

Lol, naw I'm just fucking with shorty... She a legit African and this would do much more for her given how she came up.

I can see legit Africans who grew up with Africans in their home who speak with Nigerian accents to be mad excited about this flick....

But lemme find out y'all Niggaz from Chicago and New York in that bitch sniffling and shit

"riight"

Haven't read all the pages yet but I copped an official Black Panther shirt for my 21 month year old son. I am not American nor Black...I'm not gonna pretend to know the struggle of what y'all are going through so here's my 2 cents:

Here in Indo, no one knows nor cares about who is getting paid or benefits most, mofos will watch the movie and see black folks as super heroes n shit. Positive n powerful imaginary. Hollywood is quite populair here and in the rest of the world....both here in Asia and back in Europe, people learned English and look up/love American films - and yeah white stars/celebrities. Again most people don't know that jews run Hollywood and all that. They just see white people in positive and cool roles...

English didn't became a world language cause of England - bare with me - but do to Americanization/cultural influence...which mostly came from movies. A Van Damme, Bale, Pitt etc regardless if there American or not, movies like Indiana Jones etc etc it all put Americans, English and white people in a positive light. Its the power of film/media...shits not exclusive to America, look at how populair Japan is amongst my Generation and younger kids nowadays due to anime/games n shit.

So here I am, in a city of millions, far away from America, with loads of black azz Javanese and pale azz Chinese folks antcipating a movie, shit hyped about a movie involving mostly Black folks...how is this bad? I was basically elbowing other fathers to get that damn shirt.

Again, I dont know how it helps people in America, but outside America it will have a positive impact.

No one cared about Iron man or Thor outside the states before Robert n that other dude starting playing em in their films. Now kids worldwide wanna be Black Panther. When I grew up it was basically Batman, Supes n Spidey...younger gen its Iron Man, Thor, Cap and now you can add Black Panther. Theyre selling Black Panther Merch everywhere...kids go to school here with black panther images on their milk packs n shit and the movie aint even out yet lol.

Never underestimate the power of imagery and symbolism.

Having a Black man on the face of Hollywood, with black right there in the title, says alot. I'm not saying it's going to change the world, but it definitely says something about society when we can get bombarded with white films nonfuckingstop and no one bats an eye but as soon as we get a predominately black film, we're supposed to dig our heels in the sand and not be happy about it?

Damn so we can only cry during roots and selma or something? Like damn bro

what i learned from this thread is brothers are real selective when it comes to the support black businesses argument

labeling a rare black superhero movie with an all black cast, director, and possibly crew....as “crumbs”

these same individuals bust their ass at work to put money in their nonblack employer’s pocket, who pay them “crumbs” in comparison to what they’re making

those crumbs probably get deposited into a nonblack bank, used to pay off a car they leased from an nonblack automobile corporation, and pay rent to their nonblack landlord

we all have to eat to live, so they probably go to their local nonblack supermarket to buy groceries

then whatever crumbs they have left goes to shit like wardrobe and entertainment, almost entirely purchased from nonblack businesses

their favorite hood movies growing up was pushed out by nonblack movie studios. their favorite gangsta rappers was pushed to the forefront ahead of conscious/uplifting artists by nonblack music executives and nonblack record labels. and although there may have been a message in the art, they undoubtably painted us in a negative light and encouraged destructive behavior

now i understand plenty of factors go into supporting a business other than it being black owned, as they should

however y’all support nonblack corporations on a daily basis, but want to get on your high horse over this?

FACTS!

I hate culture bullies.

Let Black people be excited about some shit. I always notice that when Black people are happy about something, something that makes them feel
good or proud, theres always one or two Black people lurking in the bushes ready to be contrary and bring down the high.

Shits wack B

niggas are excitied about a movie, a movie!!! Black kids are dancing and joyous. Older Black
folks where I work are excitied too and I feel that. I really dig that.

I think yall just think Black people are just vapid and dumb honestly. yall have such limited ideas about us and yall steady try to project that internalized toxic bullshit onto everyone else *eye roll*

how unfortunate.
