Faizon Love Says “F*** Judd Apatow” and Dave Chappelle

That argument makes 0 sense lol that's like being mad at kevin hart for not putting in work in the 80s and 90s lol who cares if he had a slow start, most comedians do. But he's been putting out high quality work since 2000, that's nearly 2 decades of work lol

U have no valid points in this argument fam lol

No, since his show debuted in 2003. That's 15 years ago almost to the day.

Faizon, Chris Tucker, Martin Lawrence, Bernie Mac, and Bill Bellamy all started out around the same time as he did. ALL of them did better work from jump with Martin and Chris Tucker being the standouts for the bulk of the 90's and Bernie Mac gettin his legs closer to the end of the decade.

At no point in time would anyone have compared Dave to Chris or Martin other than to say they're all Black men; they just weren't on the same level as far as their output is concerned.

The Kevin Hart thing you wrote is senseless because Hart simply wasn't around back then. However, at this point in Kevin's career if Comedy Central were to hand him $40M for a show I'd understand it fully because dude has been legit funny and doing good work damned near since day one.

You're looking at it as a fan of Chappelle which means you're automatically gonna go to bat for him on this but the stats simply don't support Chappelle getting that money when he did.

Faizon said about Chappelle "he's talented, but is he $40M worth?", and when you look at the body of work that preceded the Chappelle Show, you gotta sit back and be like "no... he really wasn't worth that much considering who his contemporaries were". So Faizon concludes that "...To them he is..." and that's why he got that money.

To be far, he didn't get that bread when Chappelle Show first started. He got it after the 2nd season, when it was a hit.

What in the hell are you talking about? lol There's so much false information in your post I don't even know where to begin lol

Bernie mac started when bill bellamy did? Nigga bernie was already old by the time Friday came out and even then he was barely known, he didn't blow up till Kings of comedy where the nigga was already 50. So Bernie's career is less impressive cuz he didn't blow up till he was older? Sam with Redd Foxx. Like I said most comedians don't blow up till a decade in the game, at least. Kevin hart was that dusty nigga in Paper Soliders for yearssss until he finally made it.

Secondly. Chappelle's San Fran special was in 98, killin em softly was in 2000. Both classic stand ups. Then a few years later was chappelle show. Like I said he's been putting out quality shit for 2 decades.

There's nothing u can say that will diminish Chappelle's career.

Paper Soilders came out in 2002. He didn't really start to blow up until that first special back in like 08-09. But thats besides the point....

If you think about Dave and how he just fell off the face of the map at the height of his career, this all played right into his hands.

Netflix blows up, decides to try to increase the stand up genre in the library. Why not headline Dave? The migga has drawing power. Has had multiple successful stand up specials in the past. And the show...

Before Netflix offered the deal he had been selling out shows left and right in the last few years bevause people were so excited he was making a comeback. They capitalized on the anticipation.

Katt Williams and DeeRay got one too.

Where Faizons?

Right, him and Katt Williams owe it all to Dave dropping out like he did.

Faizon doesn't deserve a show like that. Give him another HBO special or an hour on Comedy Central, that's about all he's worth. Everyone that knows his face knows him as "Big Worm" and that's it. The majority of people don't even remember he was in Bebe's Kids or Steve Harvey's sitcom. Dude has no drawing power whatsoever. His stand up has always been funny as shit to me, but he never got that vehicle to push him out there like... "Chappelle's Show".

Age has nathan to do with it, so why are you bringing Bernie's age into the discussion? (and you're also waaaaaaay the fuck off so there's also that. Mac was 50 when he died) I said they all started around the same time and have even stated that was the early 90's. Bernie got his first real break on Def Comedy Jam but he had already been doing stand-up since 1990.

His age is a factor because you're saying he started in the 90s where he was already in his 40s. So u think he woke up one day at the age of 40 and said hmm, i wanna start doing stand up? lol his start came way before you're trying to make it seem.

And you STILL wrong. Bernie was 32 when he won the Budweiser comedy joint in 1990. He was only 34 when he got his first movie role as the club doorman in Mo' Money in '92 and was 36-37 by the time Friday came out.

So we are essentially saying we're angry at Dave Chappelle for getting an opportunity on Comedy Central? We're gonna look at it like they didn't ask anybody else and Dave happen to be the one that says yes and shit took off... Where really going to say the money he got for the for Netflix specials was undeserving? We're saying because the roles he had in movies; Men in Tights, Half Baked, Screwed, Nutty Professor, and being in Blue Streak were bad and not good enough for someone to take a shot? We're really going to cosign that Charlie Murphy made the show? We're really gonna sit here and say that man didn't put in work behind the scenes and was given opportunities off the strength of that?

I'm pretty sure Dave and Neil were the ones that pitched the idea for the show to Comedy Central. So it's not like Dave was just given a show and stumbled onto success. He put in the work to get a shot and made the most of it. I'm really not understanding how this is a knock against his legacy.

lol Niggas need to learn the difference between things that are subjective and things that are objective. How you gonna tell another nigga what comedian they should think is funnier than another. That shit is purely opinion.
