He hadn't been proven innocent when he was got released. The only reason this even happened is because one of the original producers of the film adaptation of the belt felt like something wasn't right with the case, dropped out of the film and hired a private Investigator to look into it. If not for the attempt to turn the book into a movie this may have never happened

Don't even try to compare this man's case of being falsely identified and junk science being used to convict to Cosby who by his own account got drugs to give to women and was convicted using his own admission. Bill Cosby isn't exonerated, he is protected from a verbal agreement from the Judge from the previous case to be truthful in which he was and couldn't be use against him later on. He guilty as fuck.
