If I’m making enough to have something to lose in a divorce, and I’m betting that I need to protect myself against someone I choose to marry.

Either I don’t know what marriage is or means, or I shouldn’t get married. Cause it’s obvious at the point, I’m not getting married for me. I’m getting married for them, so at what point do you become resentful for making that big a move for them. Or at what point does that not be as meaningful to them.

And at what point does plans made ahead of time when we separate become what we are doing now that we are separated

If you love someone enough to ask for their hand in marriage, you need to be willing to hold that L or don’t hold their hand at the alter

i hear what you are trying to say....but you would gamble with decades of hard work?
a simple protection is just that.

that doesnt mean you two cant share it.

but things happen.

and the fact that you would have so much that its even a thought...you have to wonder if its you they truly love.

some questions need to be asked.

i bet you cant find a rich woman who would marry a man with alot less then her without a prenup.

I could've been married right now, I told him no. I was planning on leaving of course but yeah...
I can not play house with a dude again, I'm not cooking and cleaning after no one but myself and my daughter. I prefer him get his ass up and go home the next day. Wash your own clothes, I'll cook for him..not scratch that... I'LL COOK because I have to cook anyway but man listen...let me hush.

I will say that if it works for one couple, they should continue to do what works for them. Everyone isn't into marriage or the whole idea of marriage, some people are all for it and this is why compatibility is important.

Playing house is sometimes needed as a litmus test.

You don't truly know someone unless you lived with them.

I'm not playing house with no man again, I said that like 50 times. I've learned that living together is a big deal, one of which I would not do again.
 
I agree with Meek The Freek. I don't mind cooking for a dude, if I am expecting him to come over. I'll even wash his clothes if he spending the night for the weekend.
HOWEVER! I'm NOT playing house anymore either. A grown mans hands can do what my hands can do as far as cleaning and cooking.

I dont even like cooking to begin with!

But

I think the statement is too simplified. I don't think the ring should be brought up, ppl focus too much on that. It should be more of not doing certain things for a man whos not vested in you. Aint too many women doing wifey things nowadays anyway.
