“Housing is a right” demystifying buying the block & the immediate housing crisis

What's even more disturbing is a lot of landlords require your rent to be 33% of your monthly income. So basically you have to be making 3x your monthly rent to even get your application through unless it's income restricted in a bad spot or possibly slumlords

In certain places in MD apartments no matter how nice are required to have what's known as MPDU, moderately priced dwelling units, apartments which keeps them at reasonable costs but there's strict income requirements for it. If you're even $1 over the set threshold then you don't qualify. You also have to requalify for the apartment every single year. The apartments typically run anywhere from $400-800 lower than apartments the exact same size with no difference in anything inside the actual apartment. For instance a 1BR under that program for the current fiscal year which just reset in July keeps 1 BR at $1,290 for a 12 month lease and you have to make 2.5x the rent amount meanwhile the exact same apartment will be $1900+ for the same lease term for someone just applying regularly

We call 'em "mixed income" properties. They got 'em around Phoenix and they're all over Michigan. Make too much and you pay full price for rent, if you're under the threshold then you get it for cheap but how cheap is adjusted by your income. Me and my ex tried to get in on one in Ypsi but our combined income was significantly over the threshold and the full rental amount simply wasn't worth it at all.

haha ridiculous premise. so what happens when monopolizers of water resource decide bottled water should be $10 a bottle? or electricity is parceled out at $1k monthly but wage continues stagnation and spiraling downward in comparison to price hikes?
seems to me that there's no one gate keeping necessity fairness or it's at such a massive level where everyone has an iron in the fire wanting to make profit. if they don't see the results of their ambitions, all is fair. just like they won't show the ravages of war, if it's not televised then remorse is not realized. housing should not be within the mechanics of making wealth and don't let me get started on what i feel about the field of medicine. all i'm really saying, and it may come off as delusional or wild, but earthlings have to begin consideration for each other. we can't allow monopoly of necessity, ever.

what do humans actually do once we are born? monoplize? buy houses??? treat people fucked up? ..and then we die??? fuck a world like this. fix this shit.
In a perfect world what i said is ridiculous or it should be deemed ridiculous but the world ain't perfect and never will be. Electricity, Water and Sewer is already monopolized and any moment that could happen. I personally believe that every mouth should be fed and everyone should have a roof over their head but that's not going to happen.

Is it right? Nope but that's what it is so I'm not going to tell my people to day dream about something that will never happen. I'll tell them the harsh truth first. The truth is nobody is going to give you shit for free without a price so they should get their hustle on and get their money up. Get a job feed your family and take care of your business.

the thing is... the odds are going to take down a huge swathe of people doing exactly that. hustling or hamster wheeling to their deaths. individuals can hustle all they want, but that's nothing but diversion or burrowing their heads in the sand and leaving behind the misfortunate. there's too many people for it to be that way. if the wealthy are fixing law in their favor then the people have to put their hustle on a time out and confront that shit. wealthy people are running shit like tyrannical kings and queens. stick together is the only means to tear it down. we cant keep being presented and accepting their bullshit

Life ain’t easy bruh. Never was and never will be. Folks work most of their life in and out of society and always will be like that.

Of course we have technology that make life easier but don’t mean folks don’t need to pull their own weight.

Things need to change but encouraging folks to be more lazy ain’t the answer.

Who is encouraging laziness? They literally said the rich make it unfair and that needs to be confronted. Tell me in yall minds how that is lazy? Americans are the least lazy and y’all know this.

Just not feeling the idea of wanting better is lazy or that bro going up something obviously unfair is begging for a handout. Everybody that complains about this shit is actively working full time. But we lazy for wanting more and better?

who's saying its easy? im not! but come on, muthafuckas are taking advantage, making shit more insane and maniacal every day. we out here trying to get the hard way while the line is redrawn moment to moment. its designed or played so that us lowly's never can catch up to a sane level of sustenance and self reliance. it's not about desire to be wealthy, ub tit all about the quality of lives. these MF's are taking space trips for amusement in 1-use rocketships, pieces that fall away that cost millions and then we gotta hear of rumors for population control????. and on that, if you travel cross country, you've seen so much land mass for new cities, farming and so much more. i ain't talking about dream shit. im speaking on MF's getting away tweaking and cheating the system in their favor because.,,, man , there ain't no world where everyone can be wealthy. how is it that the real workers keep falling into economic traps to finally be deemed useless becoming the topic of popu;ation control??? maybe because people are tuned into hustling. somehow it's not seen as a selfish endeavor.

OH! and housing isnt a right but it sure is necessity much like air and water

You or anybody on here or in your life don’t really know what the bare minimum is.

so nobody in my entire existence ever been poor thank you for telling me about my damn life goof ball. Let me guess you gonna tell how people in other countries got it worse so we shouldn’t want better. Y’all been lying saying folks are lazy despite going to work. Y’all say the world ain’t fair but literally shit on any conversation about making it better for us.

Your definition of bare minimum doesn’t compare to the rest of the world.

Just want you to realize that.

oh yea. Don’t quote me

nigga stfu. We are talking about in the US ok and we all know this and I even stated you’re gonna bring up how people in other countries have harder to deflect from what we have going on here. It’s silly. Let’s not complain about racism because in the Congo they have a civil war and major sex crimes. Let’s not complain about how they handled the pandemic because in some other country they have no medical care.

tellme what that adds to any conversation. In your eyes are you saying we should just accept this shit because it could be worse?

when my driverside headlight goes out and i pay money to replace it, the value of that automobile doesn't accrue value. it maintains the course of depreciation as it grows older. at some point buildings were allowed a different route or different means of valuation. landlords might cement new steps up to a front door, but then have some inherent audacity to charge the renter for this. even if i change all four car tires, the value of that cars gain is so minute that it hardly registers to the equation that housing is given. with housing, society is being cheated and and gouged to death. it's a fine line considering ownership and it's freedom of having an asking price, but we can't keep fooling ourselves that there's something unbalanced about this housing thing. i really don't have an answer, but housing should not be in the mix of economic matters.

...and about bare minimums and such, of course we don't have a universal measurement to go by. but i know that purchasing car tires in new jersey will be the same price in new mexico or denver or california.

Tell you what...

I want you to hit up the next Klan rally near you and step in front of a klansman and talk your shit while they have an gun pointed at your head, safety off, with a finger on the trigger. Maybe stand your ground against a cop, looking him or her dead in the eye while they have their service pistol pointed at you and close enought that you can smell the bullshit they just ate on their breath.

The day you can do that, that's the day you can even approach me to talk about fear.

Now get the fuck on with that Fisher Price My First Revolutionary bullshit.
Wait, wait, wait.....

How the fuck did I miss THIS thread?
