They saving him fam. They don't want to show too much in the first film, and also alot of the dead fighters will be brought back. Not sure about Kung Lao, I was LEGIT mad my girl had to calm me down haha.
 
this was mid. Get it? like Midway? anywho this was bad.

The tone of the movie is weird as hell. not good enough to take seriously, not campy enough to be amused.

Kano was trash first and foremost. They tried so hard to make him the comic relief dude it sank the rest of the movie.

Worst part is they cut Johnny Cage for him.

The whole Cole thing was trash af as predicted. Couldn't bring myself to give a fuck about anything he had going.

Most of the story was weak as hell. They got the Lin Kuei vs Shirai Ryu right though.

Most of the fighting was ok-ish. Kung Lao was the standout and Kabal was cool.

did not care about the rest.

Nah, niggas complaining about the movie being trash because their fighter wasn't in so I assume folks wasn't paying attention to fighters like Korta Khan, and Shinnok.
 
This was clearly a universe set up. Set up
Shirai Ryu vs lin kuei, the tournament, liu kang and kung lao story, johnny cage, Sonya blade and jax spin off.

Really don't understand why niggas mad. We all sat here for a year saying how trash this was probably gonna be.
 
Right like Liu Kangs fight scenes should have been epic af but shit was just meh to me they need a better coreographer
 
I liked it, but I was a huge Mortal Kombat fan growing up. Not only did they have a lot of characters, they name dropped or referenced a lot of others like Bo Rai Cho. Having each character be an assassin for Shang Tsung was a clever way to bring in a lot of characters.

This was just a fun movie and I can see them making about 5 more with so much lore to pull from.

Cole Young was pointless though. They could have made it more of a background for Liu Kang than Cole.

I don't care what anybody say, Kano was fucking hilarious, lol.

REALLY hoping we can see this franchise grow with a bigger budget and more actor heavyweights, they can do ALOT with this. Sub Zero actor signed on for 4 films.

Lmao bro how? Y'all didn't see that Kung Lao and Got fatality? Y'all know they didn't have a budget and was testing the waters with this soft ass society right? I was actually surprised how bold the gore was. My prediction is hopefully if we make it to MK3, it will be the most gore. The next film will likely have a bigger budget, more known actors, and likey a larger crowd to film for. They will go more into the cgi bag, and have more shots that they can afford.

Once again niggas , PATIENCE. THE TOURNAMENT WONT START UNTIL MK3 OR MK4. The whole approach now is to build background rivalries, character development, and bring in more characters so the tournament will be like a video game with a bunch of MK fighters all fighting it out. Shit could be epic and dope. The final film could possibly be something bigger than the tournament like time travel and shit.
 
This disrespected the fuck outta Goro man smh. Cole wasn't necessary unless he became the new Scorpion. Subzero was cold pun intended and the attack on the town was really good. He was legit on some phantom ghoul shit. I need more Mileena she is bad. They had a lot of easter eggs for sure but this should've centered around Scorpion vs Subzero. They could've just used Scorpions revenge animated film as the template.
