The Official 2020/21 NBA Thread

We have 2 starters that shoot under 40% from the field and only 1 of our big men can shoot 3 pointers at a decent clip. Jaylen having knee tendonitis with the putrid floor spacing makes it hard for the 2 jays to operate, which is why we wanted Rob Williams Nesmith and Pritchard to get more minutes consistently since they can space the floor. We only have 2 consistent players and 9 guys on their rookie contract and most of em might be out of the league in 2-3 years. We're an extremely flawed roster being carried by the 2 jays and they're starting to get burnt out

Aight you convinced me.

The Knicks > Celtics

My two pennies on Stevens

I'm just reading the thoughts as I don't know shit about the celtics to give a real informed opinion

I just wanted to share my thoughts on this situation based on what happened during the Monty Williams Nola era.

People were saying a lot of the same things about him. The thought was that if you're gonna eventually lose AD, you might as well change up the coach to see what will happen. The hope was that it would lead to more success and while it spawned a couple of playoff appearances, it still didn't move the needle.

I say that to say, if you're ready to move off of Stevens, there better be someone better than him to replace him or you just swapping out names for the same or similar results.

I see what you're saying but i just don't see any improvement for stevens. I wouldn't mind kenny Atkinson or even Sam Cassell. Stevens made 3 out of 4 ECF so he'd find another job easily. But we're in year 8 and things are progressively declining with a max player being mediocre. We can't stand pat that's all i know lls

I trust your analysis a lot more than my thoughts. If you think it's time to move on, I'll take you at your word

One of the most frustrating things in my group chat is when people wanted to fire Gentry but couldn't name a suitable replacement. I mean, I get it. It's easy to shit on a coach when shit going south but who do you replace them with especially if your ideal candidate is locked into their current deal?

So you press the button and now you have to find someone that you hope can at least keep the ship afloat but what if the replacement doesn't?

In the Nola situation, I felt Monty while I was happy to see a black man get a coaching gig, his newness to coaching continued to show as he was trying to play a different style of ball when the league had made another leap. They replace him with Gentry who was apart of the team that helped push the league into that leap but 1) didn't have the players and 2) the Pelicans were still going through a ton of shit with management.

Couple that with AD requesting a trade in the middle of the damn season, it was just one thing after another

Here we are on coach 3 since Tim Floyd and niggas still find a reason to shit on SVG. I keep trying to tell niggas, hof coaches not just sitting around waiting to be hired.

Our wins have decreased the past few seasons part of it is stevens fault. The other part is Ainge putting together a putrid roster with 9 guys on rookie contracts. Then an undersized defensive liability that's chucking us out of games, one of those things has to change

IQ and Rose had a 2nd horrible back to back game. Its a long season and shit happens so im not gonna think too hard on it, just gonna hope they got the bad games out and get on a good run

So because @5th Letter said Zion doesn’t have as many highlights this year you talking about Zion to me hours after the game? Lol
Beta

You not a dumb dude. You play a pretty good one, but you're not dumb. I responded to your post "protect Zion at all costs". But you threw 5th name in it for reasons unknown to me

Here we are

Isn't this more of an Ainge issue though? To me, he's the problem
