Desegregation: Black Americans Were Bamboozled

I view it like this I haven’t read every page. Segregation wasnt to end racism and I don’t think most of felt it was going to go away. I think it chipped that “white people are inherently better” rhetoric that was spread throughout the world. And let’s be real minorities have to intergrate that’s a worldwide thing. Now if y’all are saying black folks all of sudden had less pride or we got caught up in thinking the white mans ice is colder than I can definitely see that. And I don’t black kids would be on tik tok hating their blackness. (That is a serious issue we have with thinking every other group is better)

And I feel you it seems like a black flight took place. Which I think was terrible for us. Our neighborhoods shouldn’t be places where we don’t want to go because of crime. I think maybe what we should’ve did was go for intergration but not abandoning us.

And when I think of more immediate situations like it’s two hospitals in town. The white one and the black one yo go into labor and the closest hospital is the white one. Most folks would try to go closer.

Buuuuuuuttttt also the white hospital is not interested in treating you right at all and would let a black person die probably from something that could be prevented which is documented and real.

Only real answer is destroying white supremacy

Anyway believe what you will about intergration. I think by itself it’s a good thing. But if black folks thought that would lessen the struggle maybe we thought wrong.

I apologize for insulting you over history. Anyway you stated millions of blacks were wrong for wanting integration. I don’t see it. Unless they were thinking that integration was going to make white folks wake up or be nicer.

But wanting the same access to things as other folks wanting freedom to go to any store ain’t a bad thing. But again if they thought it would end racism they were mistaken

Besides, whose nigga lives in the delusion that the United States is desegrated??

Native Americans are still coerced to libe into reservations. People are imprisoned into concentration camps at the Mexico-American border. Redlining and white-privilegied gentrification are still a thing. Most of the socio-economically underprivilegied neighborhoods and ghettos today are populated by Hispanics and Blacks. Half of the U.S. jail population is composed of Blacks and Hispanics. African Americans are working their ass for 156 years and they're still one of the poorest and less educated population groups in U.S. because every single Black Wall Street-like elite get shut down and their leaders murdered.

I am born and raised in Canada and yet, all of these long-term undermiming campaigns seems totally obvious to me. And so many other people around the globe, for your intel.
Slavery and segregation has never been abolished... simply refined.

as for the thread topic itself this country is still very much segregated. Majority of people still live and go to schools around people who are majority their own race. The main thing that's changed is the racism moved to being more covert and less overt because it's only publicly acceptable to be racist up to a certain point. So majority of the same issues, lack of funding, trouble getting home/business loans, disproportionately policing Black neighborhoods etc.still exist. They're still fucking up the community but some folks have been led to think monetary success means you've somehow made it past those barriers. It's amazing how many Black folks, both with and without means, will parrot the words of white Americans when it comes to "making it" and how to overcome the obstacles society has in place. That's where the real damage was done. To the mentality of what being a community meant. Black folks bought into the American ideal of individualism being the key to prosperity.
 
The problem with integration was that only flowed one way. Schools desegregated and that had no net positive on blacks. Black teachers and administrators had to find work at white schools, usually in a demoted role, yet no white teachers were going to work at a black school. White kids weren't getting bused to black schools. Black schools getting shut down cuz surprise surprise...they not up to code. Then generations of black kids after that grew up never having a black teacher.

Integration also lost us the credibility to be able to talk about race, inequality and equity. Cuz it's countered with the same shit they tell poor white ppl about bootstraps and visibility.
