OPINION oh boy here we go again

if you using the sys at your disposal only reinforces social and economic ills that keeps the majority of Black ppl funneled into prisons, murdered by the state, barred from quality healthcare services etc

why arent you pushing for abolishment?

I was a Bernie supporter. He suggested policy changes to counter pretty much everything you're talking about. Lots of people are out there advocating and fighting for change to our system. However, you still have to exist in this country. You can't just not participate unless you want to be destitute, and you definitely won't have any power to do anything if that's the position you're in.

the quality of life has not improved for everyone under capitalism nor does property rights = socioeconomic advancement/mobility of Black ppl.

the pillars that uphold capitalism include owning private property - it’s a way to consistently amass wealth above all others. now, when that’s coupled with systemic factors like race...

you have a continued system of capitalism that works in favor of those few folks (mainly white) who amassed wealth via ownership of land and property then subsequently passed down through generations and/or hoarded into tax shelters

thus keeping Blacks and indigenous ppl on the bottom of the socioeconomic totem pole

Black ppl, out of all races, fair the worst under capitalism due to racism and other policies and sys strategically designed to keep us out of the “competition”

medical and technological advances refute ur statement at the underlined

and no one said property rights = socioeconomic status/mobility/rights

the reason Black folks continue to be on the bottom is because we don't compete well and do group economics

people forget that there is an economic component to the phrase "socioeconomic"...........that economic portion is consisted of resources

unfortunately Black people have always been good at getting money, but we suck at controlling resources............that's not a fault of capitalism

what's dangerous is discouraging our own from participating fully when the world currently subscribes to a capitalist mindset

SMH @ this overly simplistic view of property rights

so everything u "own" should be available for anyone?

u share any and everything u have with anyone?:cont:

whew* i feel like im talking to a white man

do you even know how private property works in relation to racialization?

because the fact descendants of enslaved africans are championing for “private property” is so damn embarrassing.

you're basically saying “yes! i believe in an economic system that is fueled by exploitative labor reminiscent of chattel slavery... whats the issue???”

and yes, if i owned a means of production, i would share it ....

Housing and good healthcare should be more affordable

Luxury shit like Gucci shoes, S550, PS5 etc... if you can get it cool. If not cool

The affordability of Necessities should be something we all should get.

I’m still a believer of getting up and pulling your own damn weight. I’ve seen so many lazy folks folks growing up in NOLA and so many hard workers. Everybody should have everything everybody else got. But shit I mentioned above should.

oh the ol “its yall fault you cant get ahead” and *NOT* the very sys in place that discourages/barrs us from obtaining leverage in this country

sir, pls stop talking to me

As it's been stated already...human corruption and greed is the underlying problem.

No matter the system of government you choose... there will be some form of corruption and greed involved. I'm not sure what kind of utopia yall anti-capitalists think exists where there is a level playing field for everyone. Would be great if there was.. but let's try to operate from reality here

This is all I'm saying. I'm all for establishing a system that gives us a more equal playing field but I'm also not naive to the inherent nature of people. No matter what you're gonna have people who want to amass more power than someone else so they can't be overtaken.

There's also the fact that asking people to sacrifice and go without with no readily available plan to help them get by in the interim or the future is always gonna fall on deaf ears. You want Black folks to sacrifice even more in a world that already is trying to strip us of everything on the HOPE that someday shit will get better? That's a hard sell

im growing bored

its evident yall niggas just mirroring the ways of your oppressors and have internalized a lot of bullshit and dont care to unlearn it

so i digress

but is the underlined solely capitalism's fault tho? or is it human nature?

nothing says that people have to be in this situation

especially when participating in capitalism gives u the opportunity to better address these problems

Lets keep it real.

Human nature is fucked up. Human nature being fucked up is the reason that capitilism exists.

With that said, for capitilism to thrive, you need to use a persons workforce as a commodity. You need a poor class of people so the rich can get richer.

This doesnt necessarily mean keep black people poor in America. Even though that is a part of it. This could mean use covert actions to cause war in some country just so you can go and save them, rebuild it, and put that country in crippling debt and buy up all their resources for cheap.

Thats basically been America hitting the notes since WW1.

So I agree that human nature is bad to start with but thats where the govt and the system of governance comes into place. Put in checks and protect people from becoming the worst version of themselves.

The issue is when you have a country that embraces hyper capitalism because hyper capitalism is a system that rewards people for being their worst selves.

And the idea that capitalism is bad but still the best system is outdated by about 40 years because we have very succesful countries in the world that have merged capatilism and socialism together and the people in those countries have way better lives on average than americans.

you kind of reaching here bro. Wanting a more even playing field does not mean a person endorse poverty. But poverty as we all know comes from lack of resources. People shouldn’t die because they can’t afford to go to the doctor or lose their job because of it.

Nah not reaching at all you missing point. Wanting even playing field is not promoting impoverished mindset, but appearing to have issues with anyform of economic gain does.

Not just this thread but in general many "woke" blacks tend to have mentality of it it's for profit or about profit at all it's wrong and "selling out".

For example ole girl got a problem with niggas finding open market to quadruple or more the price of a common item like a durag and niggas buying raggedy homes up and flipping them cuz of gentrification lol.

A lot of "woke" niggas tend to have a problem with any form of upward mobility and attribute successful gain or profit to selling out in some form. It's like a program or microchip placed in niggas heads to maintain stat quo or some shit. No lie.

what's funny is I feel like I'm talking to one of those hippie/liberal white chicks who went to college on her parent's dime

and just decided to smoke weed and get fucked a couple of times by some random black dudes............so now she feels extra qualified to preach/protest on behalf of everyone else's rights

but then u get to go back to ur sheltered life whenever u feel like it SMH

shorty I live this shit.....it's cats out here really building

meanwhile u ain't bout to preach about property rights when u barely own shit and u ain't even willing to freely share the lil bit of shit u got............but u talking marxist ideals and not realizing how dangerous that is to folks already under pressure

don't talk about racialization and property rights when the reason racism is able to be perpetuated against us is because we don't control our own resources in order to protect ourselves

the fact u bring up slavery shows u have a real limited understanding of the bigger picture

Americas issue is also not just capitilism.

America is also stupidly racist. Like every country is racist. There is racism everywhere. When its not based on religion, its based on race, when its not based on race, its based on tribes etc. Racism is alive in different forms everywhere.

But the difference is that, most people have their own countries. You know who Denmark belongs too. France belongs to the french, etc.

America doesnt belong to anyone, contrary to what the whites think. White people clearly have the most power, but the fight for americas soul has been white people trying to make America belong to Americans, but make it where Americans are the decendents of white europeans.

All that to say capitalism isnt the only issue america has. Americas form of racism is different from other developed countries and that needs to get fixed too.

Canada has done a way better job with it than the US though so its not impossible.

sir, pls stop talking to me

who said "it's yall fault u can't get ahead"?

of course the system is biased against us.............but what u are essentially saying is to completely give up on the system without a better alternative

u really think u gon get leverage in any country without controlling resources?

u think people really gon do something for u solely out of the kindness of their hearts??

capitalism fuels racism

both sys go hand in hand

I agree.

I wont go as far as to say capitilism is the cause of racism, but like I said in my other post, capitilism rewards people for being the worst possible version of themselves, so it goes without saying, it will rewards mfers in power for being racist

And an 'even playing field' is not even like a real thing anyway. Thats not how this planet work ???
