I already explained that. He kept on falling back on his expertise as evidence that he knew what he was talking about and was the right person to run a school. Credentials matter in that regard. And people tried to look up his degree. They couldn't find it. That was the whole reason the shit dragged on.

I like people who are clear on their stance not fence sitters.

Dyson and West are pretty clear about their stance. I have no idea why you would think the aren't. Just because they aren't taking the hardlined stance you think they should take doesn't mean they are sitting on the fence. People call Umar a Hotep because they believe he exhibits those specific traits.
