Ok.
So you don't see any value in black men speaking against white supremacy the way ppl value religion? MLK, X, panthers got paid too...
I see value in it. Panthers and them wernt asking like how Umar is.
Ok.

Are you purposely missing the point?
No I’m not. You asked a question and I answered it.I think you’re missing mine
No I’m not. You asked a question and I answered it.
All our problems are different variations of the same thing. If you can’t see that black people have diverse issues and that they need to be discussed with ourselves then idk
Yea. Undermining. We get memed and get called hoteps.
But watch this. If I should give light skin Race Jones a pass because she calls out white supremacy then why can’t you give Umar a pass despite him being flawed?
Cool. But why does this matter? You can look up anyone’s degrees online if he was lying about them.
I like people who are clear on their stance not fence sitters.
[/QUOTE]lol I don't think you even understand what you're arguing anymore. You have some complaints with her, that's fine. It doesn't change the fact that she makes statements against white supremacy. The same way that Umar's problems don't take away from the fact that he has made some solid points here and there. That was never my point. My point was that all the other foolishness is why he gets called Hotep not him speaking out against white supremacy.
But he showed his degrees so it’s a moot point now.I already explained that. He kept on falling back on his expertise as evidence that he knew what he was talking about and was the right person to run a school. Credentials matter in that regard. And people tried to look up his degree. They couldn't find it. That was the whole reason the shit dragged on.
You answered your own questionDyson and West are pretty clear about their stance. I have no idea why you would think the aren't. Just because they aren't taking the hardlined stance you think they should take doesn't mean they are sitting on the fence. Some of ya'll need to learn the difference how to disagree with people without feeling the need to disparage them.
So answer the question why can’t you give Umar a pass since I’m supposed to give Rye a pass? So again why is being a Hotep a bad thing based on the definition?
But he showed his degrees so it’s a moot point now.
You answered your own question
So cool Omarosa spoke out against white supremacy since we’re rehashing old points. The definition of Hotep is not to spit inaccuracies, be hypocritical etc so again it goes back to my original question.Bruh, I'm really starting to doubt your reading comprehension. I never said you should give Rye a pass. If you think she's a whatver you want to call her, that's fine. The point is that flawed or not she's consistently spoken out against white supremacy. She's not called a Hotep because she doesn't exhibit the traits that get people called a Hotep (e.g., spitting inaccurate information, being hypocritical, grifting, etc...). People call Umar a Hotep because they believe he exhibits those specific traits.
I also said, in my very first post that being Hotep by the definition is not a bad thing..
Who are you for him to show you his degrees right away?Again, I explained why it's problematic. There was no reason he couldn't have showed those degrees immediately. The whole incident came off as him trying to use controversy to keep his name ringing, and as I said, that's a tactic conmen use not leaders of legitimate movements.

Hotep (ḥtp; also rendered hetep) is an Egyptian word that roughly translates as "to be at peace". The word also refers to an "offering" ritually presented to a deity or a dead person, hence "be pleased, be gracious, be at peace".Your question has been answered. You don't want the answer. Hotep shouldn't be an insult, but it is because it was commonly used by people who do spit inaccuracies and are hypocritical. It's no different than the word "woke." There was nothing wrong with what it stood for originally but it became an insult because some many so-called woke people started doing and saying stupid shit.
Yet here you are arguing about him for pages. Did he show his degree? Yes or no?He didn't have to show me shit. I don't give a fuck about Umar or his degree. He does have to show the people that he expects to fund his school. You can't ask people to give you money and then act like they are wrong for ask you to prove that you qualified to do what you say you're going to do. Fuck is wrong with for not understanding that simple shit.

It's not bad for real. Although people do take the Kemetic themed thing overboard from time to time. These the main people refered to though when the word is used in jest. Kinda like lyrical miracle for over the top lyrical rappers lol. Even though I appreciate that kinda thing. I actually would probably fit bill of being a "hotep" nigga based on my views but don't really present myself that way.
I think the bold is another good reason the word came to be linked to fake pro blacks because by and large most African Americans have no connection to Egypt, so claiming and repping Kemetic shit over things from Western and Central African stuff rings hollow. You can't be pushing that people get knowledge and learn themselves, and then knowingly cling to a culture that isn't really yours.
AA do have connection to Kemet though . Many of those individuals from Kemet spread to West and central Africa from invasions etc. I get what you're saying though that would be more direct history obviously, but that region of continent was less influential or noteworthy historically. Regardless of the fact I'm not walking around like no damn Egyptian in 2020 lol

Yea. Undermining.
i keep saying all of the pushback against the conscious community is to stay docile and complacent
