well the issue came in mainly because he made it seem like our smoking and drinking which is a common stereotype about us is what’s causing high mortality rate. Not the whole racism in American medicine or lack of resources in minority communities and etc. we def not dying from it due to drug use. Which is what China is doing now with Africans

Bruh, he's the surgeon general. His job in that conference was to give medical instructions and advice. He doesn't even have the expertise to speak on the societal issues that have led to the higher death rate in the black community. Smoking and drinking are bigger problems in poor communities, and that was primarily who he was addressing. He wasn't trying to fix systemic racism. Even if he knew how, he couldn't do that before the pandemic is over. He can't give advice that might give people a better chance of survival if they contract the disease.

How so? The man's job is to address the medical crisis and the things that can be done to improve chances of survival. Ya'll are mad at him because he did that instead of using his platform to address societal issues. That makes no sense.

He's part of the Trump administration, so that's probably true, but that doesn't make what he did under these circumstances wrong. Ya'll niggas are just off on this one. And that chick's questions were stupid. Even if she wanted to address the greater concerns for the black community, that's not what she did.
