BT dont belong in the same category as folks like Jay, Nas, BIG, Wayne, Snoop, K. West, Pac, Em etc.....

He belongs with Jadakiss, Ross, Pusha, Lupe etc...

I honestly can't quote one black thought verse word for word and I consider myself someone who fucks with the roots....

I loved some of the features I randomly find of his....

But my first time hearing this



I was driving and it randomly came on in the peedi crakk shuffle...

and when I heard BT's verse...I was like ooooo shit... Who's that.... Damn.... I'm sure I know that voice..... Fuck....... This nigga nice as shit, and I'm drawing blanks....... Cuz it was a couple niggaz on there I recognized off the break, some I didn't


had to risk my life to pull the song up while driving and discover that black thought was on there...

which I responded.... Oh shit.. damn I should have known...

Shit like what? He has millions of followers, he's been on dozens of alltime hiphop classics, a ton of hit records, part of Bad Boy and Ruff Ryders in their prime, beefed with 50 and The Roc in their prime, and you're surprised people outside of NY know who Jada is?

Guarantee there is a handful of legends you wont recognize. Same goes for me. And the same goes for all genres, not just hip hop.

Its some heavy rock heads that wont recognize some rock legends. Certain basketball heads wont be able to name certain HOFers in highlights.

Just cause you dont recognize a certain legend dont mean hes not a legend.

All legends aint made the same. You named Redman. Redman one of goats. Like I grew up on Red. Told a story that I rushed a mfer in college and had to be held back by a group of mfers for disrespecting Red. But the majority of hip hop fans today wont recognize Red on a song to save their life.

So Red aint a legend by your own standards.

This isnt the best way to do this. Not every legend will impact everybody.

Other than like 10 rappers I dont have to name, there arent any universally recognized rappers period.

Will the avg person know who George Mikan is? Nah, cuz that's a different era. But everybody who lived in that era would know who he is. Everybody in this era knows who Redman is. A lot of people in this era will not know who BT is.

if the comparison is Jadakiss, then him

ruff ryders got heavy play in Nola at their peak. a lot of dudes I went to college with bought kiss the game goodbye on album release day and were bumping tf out of it. it also helps the cash money/ruff ryders tour was a huge success as well.

both groups crossed over into each other's fanbases

the only track people were playing down here was "you got me" and that was probably because of the hook. if I remember correctly, that did a bounce song with just the hook from "you got me"
