HBO DC's Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

I think I posted this before.... But if I was a screen writer and got to change one scene from suicide squad...I know exactly what scene I would change....and i honestly think this would add loads of depth to both joker and Harley without going to far in the deep end...

Okay...so the movie goes 100% the way it was going all the way up to when Deadshot takes the shot at Harley on Waller's orders.

Harley pretends to be dead.... Then springs back to life. And Waller orders the helicopter to be shot down...

Joker sees the missile and pushes Harley out the helicopter saving her by life

Scratch that.... Joker would never do that.

He would save himself.

But.... He would push her out the helicopter if he saw her flirting with Deadshot like that.... And Joker would 100% consider what she did flirting. And he was right there watching it.

Change the scene to get getting in the helicopter and joker goes

J: what the hell was that?
H: what was what puddin? Aren't you happy to see me
J: the little thing you did... On the rope...with the guy....what was that?
H: oh that was nuffin puddin Floyd would have never shot me
J: Floyd? Floyd!? He has a name?!
H: no puddin, I mean he does but he didn't like being called Deadshot any more so we called him Floyd....the
J: *cuts her off* yea yea I heard enough of this.... This was a waste of time. Go play with your friends..*pushes Harley out of the helicopter with no regard where she lands*
J: so.... Who wants Chinese?? I'm starving!


Then as Harley is falling out the sky she has a tear in her eye and falls in between two buildings bouncing off of conveniently placed soft things until she falls into a dumpster....while in the trash she sees the missile hit the helicopter... Hears the explosion and pops get head out like. "puddin no!!"

Then she just wanders back to the front of the building when the rest of the suicide squad comes out and the movie picks right back up with her pretending all that didn't just happen.


I feel like that established Jokers mean murderous streak towards her....he clearly cared enough to save her... But that quickly snapped and tried to kill her

It shows how she was happy to see him...only sad he tried to kill her....even sadder when she thought he was dead.... then at the movie when he saves her again she's all happy again like all is forgiven.....

You do that small change of like 1-2 mins and the movie has more substance

Only "bad" movies imo were BVS SS & JL

The rest were pretty damn good....

And even the bad ones have good scenes to them that make them rewatchable...

They could have came up with something better as far as plot and charater motives.

But the casting was great. The chemistry and the feel were right. Even the direction and action was okay. It was just plot, villains, and motives.

Amanda Wallerv was supposed to be more imposing. I think the actress bodied what she had to work with.... But the screenplay was mediocre at best

I just watched this last night. Man listen, this movie was Elektra, Catwoman bad. Idk what film yall watched if you thought this was a good film. You'd have to be a straight up Harley Quinn fan borderline fanatic to remotely like this. Whoever said the fight scenes were even close to Winter Soldier level, needs to slap themselves with their keyboard. Its bombing at the box office, not because of Male audiences, not because of the promotion . It's just a wack film. There was never any sense of dread from the villians. The movie didn't know whether it wanted to be campy or hardcore. I'm a movie geek I watched damn near everything, and it's rare I'll watch a film and debate walking out. But this was one of those

Not even close. The movie had way more personality than that.

Those are the only two comic related films I watched once and never attempted to watch ever again. I put this up with those based on that. That being said I compared some of the fight scenes in BOP to Elektra ( rather they came off just the same) decent to straight up gtfoh bad. Margot Robbie played Harley to perfection. That was the only "personality " of the film and honestly the only reason I watched to the end. I only watched Catwoman to the end cause of Hallie berry in the suit . All in all all three are bad films to me. This had potential with the characters but they dropped the ball badly
 
I can't see where they dropped the ball. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and won't say you're hating... You just didn't like the film.


But I can't help that I did. I honestly thought I wasn't.... But I did. I loved Rosie in it... She made me laugh hella times. Huntress having a public speaking issues made me bust out laughing the same way some of the ways they flipped characters on her tv show.

Now Canary ....... Yea.... She was kinda stale.... But the actress was cute...

Black mask and zasz were done kinda the same like the tv show... They made them funnier to fit the vibe of the movie and I dug it. I understood it. It works for the show, and for me at least it worked here.

Cassandra Cain however is me biggest issue.

Her character is so hard core in the comics, I can only agree with one of the posters earlier who said they just threw a big name on the character to give a tie in to the comics. Nothing about her was Cassandra....and I can say the same about Canary


So Canary and Cain..... I'll concede on those two being stale (even if I liked them). But the rest of the cast was cool....

I dunno man..... I actually wanna see it again already... Cuz I liked it and I know I missed some stuff that I wanna bring up as well
 
Like the breakfast sandwich. That was hilarious and a great call back at the end.

The hyena. The beaver. Her getting coked up in the evidence room. Fucking niggaz up with the bat ...she was on all cylinders

The shit with the laxatives. Taping shorty to the toilet.

Just a fun movie man....

I can respect this. We can agree to disagree. You're a comic fan , like me . I read your ratings on DC films a few pages back and with the exception on 1 or 2 It was solid. So I gave the movie a shot off that.
Canary I agree I like jurnee but the character was bland . The arrow version of canary was better than this one ( and I found her annoying in the show at times )

Mask and zasz vibe were straight outta the show Gotham . My gripe was since it was R rated I didnt want camp with them I wanted hardcore villainy I guess

Huntress back story set her up perfectly to be a movie stealer possibly spinoff turn performance but they went for the laughs and awkward personality route instead

I didn't care for rosie's character but appreciated seeing her boobs even covered ( loved her since do the right thing )

I didn't know anything about cain so I cant speak on what they did with the character

Yeah film just wasnt for me

You’re not the only one that thinks like this though because from all these tournaments on here and ppl voting on what they enjoyed more en route to ruining every poll

I like mystery men but I can acknowledge it’s a horrible movie lmao

Cain mother is lady Shiva top 3 if not #1 hand to hand in DC comics.... And she trained Cassandra to beat her in a fight before she was ready for the field

Her father is David cane....a mercenary who broke in the batcave and framed Bruce Wayne for murder in a way that the only thing to vindicate him was giving up his secret identity.... All as a test to see if he was worthy of having Cassandra be a part of the bat family.

Her hand game is beyond phenomenal...she's like a female Damien Wayne
