if she makes less, splitting the bills 50/50 wouldn't make much sense. I can understand the more financially comfortable party covering bills, and thats more likely to be the man.

true but people are still managing on one income, usually by force (men not being in the picture, etc). I'm sure getting by on one income could happen by choice in many 2 parent households, too.

If we both working wtf I look like "splitting" bills. Any income that comes in the house is going where it needs to be regardless of whos check it came from.
