Welcome To aBlackWeb

I Believe In God....But...

Facts dont really check out though.

There are written govt and non govt records of everything that happened in Rome during the days of Jesus.

Records of everything except Jesus.

Yall still believe in Jesus though.

Theres literally records of King Herod and how he became ruler of Judea and all the things he did, the buildings he built etc. Jewish historians recorded his history and his deeds and so did the Roman govt since he was essentially a Roman governor. All these records of all the events but no records of Jesus. And Jesus' existence is the basis of the whole religion.

So facts?

And honestly I respect all yall beliefs. Please keep believing.

Faith is belief in the absence of facts.

Faith is to believe in something knowing you cant physically prove it.

By all means keep having faith and believing.

Just dont front like there are actual facts and non believers are ignoring facts.

There are no facts when it comes to any religion.

Pliny the Younger, Josephus, Tacitus, Thallus, Phlegon and others I can’t fhink of rn.. wrote about Jesus after the time of Jesus and wrote about the devout followers of Christ.

Faith is the assurance of the heart in the adequacy of evidence. Biblical facts check out, for sure. Not even the hard agnostic Bart Ehrman, who is a NT scholar, believes Jesus didn’t exist. He fully knows well there’s enough evidence for it, he just doesn’t believe in God nor that Jesus was anyone particularly special in a godly sense.

A religious Jew existing inciting some revolution against Roman beliefs (especially since Jews were not happy because King Herod was pushing a mixture of Judiasm and Roman Paganism to appease both his Jewish citizens and his Roman overlords and Jews didnt like thay) is not the same as Jesus existing.

There were multiple religious jewish preachers at the time that incited riot and rebellion and got killed. The Jesus we know of today is a mixture of all of their with divine attributes added later for reasons that we dont have to debate.

That is not the same as the biblical Jesus existing. In other words, there is no record of one figure who was responsible for all actions and miracles. These preachers existing doesnt make Christianity valid cause without Jesus the religion is null and void.

There are records from births and deaths kept from that time. There are multiple historical records of big and small events from that time.

There is literally no explanation of why there wouldnt be multiple historical accounts of something as big as what Jesus was doing to not be recorded by multiple sources.

So yea man, believe in what you believe. My purpose isnt to change your mind. I honestly dont care that much.

Just keep in mind that it is you chosing to believe in the abscense of facts, not me who is chosing to ignore facts.

After the time of Jesus with a bunch of added divination cause there was a society wide telephone game being played. Everyone who retold the story added to it as human beings tend to do.

There is a reason why none of them can be accepted as factual accounts while King Herod rebuilding the temple can. Historians want nothing more than to prove Jesus existed. If they could have, they would have.

Not all the time

I kid born into a good household but has a incurable disease that will kill them before their first bday.

That ain’t humans.

Nigga that's not God. Lol. That's life. Sometimes its wild trash.

Did you look at any of the records of the ppl I provided?

Again, there is plenty of evidence of Jesus’ existence, the argument isn’t that he didn’t exist among scholars, the argument is was he truly who he said he was.

Based on my research, there isn’t much of a debate of his actual existence. One thing we do know is he was a peasant, what do we know about the historical records of peasants? They don’t keep a record. He had one bc of who he said he was and the impact made. There is legit an atheist/agnostic who is a NT scholar, he is biased in no way, he doesn’t believe in a God, doesn’t believe Jesus was a son of God yet he even stated there is evidence of Jesus’ existence. He just states that supposedly anything “divine” is not true.

As for storytelling and a game of telephone, no. They were strict and precise storytellers. They literally knew the whole Bible (OT) by memory. Scores of ppl knew it. It was written later to preserve the word. Dating back as far as we can, the word of the Bible today matches up to the first scripts discovered. Even though they made copy after copy, the context never changed. This is another historical fact.

Bruh. Jesus existing as a regular destroys christiandom. Either Jesus the son of god walked the Earth or everything about Christianity goes out the window.

The whole time Im talking about the fact that there is 0 record of the Biblical son of God Jesus existing. And the record keeping of that time was very good so it makes no sense for the events of a biblical jesus existing to not be recorded like all other historical events were.

You keep replying theres proof of a guy existing at the time who was likely a regular preacher causing revolt to prove Jesus, but unless that guy walked on water your religion becomes meaningless.

You keep proving my point for me.

And im not trying to be disrespectful by saying your religion is meaningless btw. Just still stuck on the fact that the only thing I dont appreciate is the fact that believers are the ones ignoring facts than non believers.

Thats my whole argument. No need to keep regurtitating it. Im pretty sure my point is made.
