You have stated you see the bigger picture. That's more then give it a chance.
Exactly but yet you keep trying to give them damn near all the credit for it.
They helped and deserve credit for that but at the same time the ball was already rolling down hill.
The nfl trying to do a lot of bandwagon hopping on and get an "we not racist" image clean up on a lot shit where the leg work has been done and the people close to the finish line already.
They get the media to come out and shine some light and that might make them speed up the process of shit that was already going to happen without them.
I'm not going to give the nfl credit for shit like that.
Reading comments in here make me shake my head like most threads with serious issues that aren't linear in nature and require nuance.
The reason I'm with the wait and see crowd and why I'm a tad skeptical of Jay-Z and his partnership with the NFL is because of the fact that he didn't reach out to Kaepernick, Eric Ried, and some of the more vocal players who kneeled.
Jay-Z came out a vocally said he supported Kaep and what he was doing after it gained national media attention but didn't even take the time to hear his or the other players thoughts on his partnership with the NFL? Jay-Z didn't even get his publicist to tell the players or Kaep about this, they found out when the rest of the world did? I understand Jay-Z doesn't have to run anything by those players or Kaep because this is his venture but it looks bad and seems like he has distanced himself from a man he just praised a year or two ago. Jay-Z even downplayed (maybe not in the dismissive way it seemed) the work with his (know your rights seminars and workshops) Kaepernick with his limited resources has accomplished so far.
I'm hoping Jay-Z is going to keep doing all the solid social justice reform work he has been doing and expand on it. I also hope he isn't being just used as a prop by the NFL to calm down a certain subsection of people. So far though.....with some of Jay-Z's actions, words and the timing of the venture he has with the league.........it seems kinda suspect but I hope I'm wrong
Fuck Reid
And you think Jayz is going to help the mostly black NFL treat it's players better? The bigger picture is most are worried about ONE nigga (kap), while the NFL is mostly black.
Why? I think you mentioned before why but I can't remember?
How niggaz stop watching football altogether to support Kap, and now its fuck Kap and Eric Reid off the strength of one nigga?
And you think Jayz is going to help the mostly black NFL treat it's players better?
I think that's part of his mission. Will it work? Who knows. I'm just saying, give the nigga a shot.
One day, the NFL COULD follow the steps of the NBA and become more progressive and maybe this is the first step towards that.
Will Jay profit off this move? Ofc. This is all about money, that's why kap wants his job back, that's why reid tucked his tail and been workin for the NFL this whole time, etc.
But I think Jay has a bigger plan. If I end up being wrong, I'll say so.
He dissed black players that’s actually fighting for the same thing he wants.
Shit is just foul
Once again to speculate on his plan is the same as to speculate on his motivation. So if you do that, you must allow for speculation of his purely capitalistic motivation. Just sayingI think that's part of his mission. Will it work? Who knows. I'm just saying, give the nigga a shot.

Real question cause I really don't know. What makes the nba progressive?

Also I don't think that's why Kap and Reid want to play in the NFL. Most players in the league are motivated by way more then money and that's just a bonus on top. They have literally dedicated their lives to the game and pretty much the only platform to showcase their life's work is the NFL.
They allow their players to express themselves and speak on things without being penalized. Adam Silver supported the BLM movement and allowed the players to wear anything supporting it during warmups, they got donald sterling df outta here, etc
