Started around 2006 with Laffy Taffy what were your thoughts back then and what is the legacy of these songs in hip hop history?

Soulja Boy ended up being the king of that era oddly enough. I gotta say, most of them songs may not have been "good" per se, but I can't deny them jawns would get the party/club jumping and that era was a lot of fun. Also this was probably the era that ushered in the usage of the internet for musicians to become as big as it is today

This was also the era where it seemed like a lot of old school rappers were trying new things and experimented with their sound trynna ride that electronic wave.

Jay dropped Blueprint 3, Nas was working with the techno boul from the Black Eyed Peas(Will.I.Am), Common dropped UMC, guys like Lupe Fiasco stood out because they were giving us "Real" rap

Wheelchair Jimmy was just starting out, YM had the world in a chokehold, and Kanye dropped Graduation only to usher in that 808's type sound a year later, Kid Cudi hit the scene...man alot went down in that time

I Think it's gotten worse. Shit was at least tolerable then.

Shit like this is what's popular now.

I promise y'all she not serious. This like shock porn rap. Cupcakke been doing this shit for years and Sukihana is another artist that does the same shit.

It's a genre that's supposed to be over the top and raunchy. Shit is not lyrical, and they ain't models for young women.

But guess what? There has been other shock genres like horrorcore from the 90s like Gravediggaz with Rza and Triple 6 mafia, as well as pimping music like Sugafly, etc.

Let's not all get fickle about this shit man. It's hypocritical to thinking otherwise

I was the ringtone king

use to hit up the ring tone store every Friday to cop the newest shit.

I remember I had a custom P.I.M.P ringtone that said my name in the song.

it was over once niggas found out how to make their own tones and set them tho.
