When I worked in LA a few years ago, it a couple years after the first strike. My first job was in residuals for a lot shows like SpongeBob, Cosby Show, Roseanne and Tyler Perry'.
What I notice is that the all guilds,: DGA,WGA,AFTRA, and IATSE contracts didn't pay a lot of money in residuals for streaming platforms then.
You'd be surprised how little they got quarterly and it got to the point we had hold checks until they reached a certain amount bc it cost more to print the check.
The real money is in production, they got like 75 - 85 percent of profits. The rest is split amongst everyone else.
And people wonder why folks like Tyler Perry isn't part of the WGA.and does all the writing. Liomsgate was another client I worked for and I saw his pay for his shows. He got paid on the backend and the front. His residuals were huge
