90’s in particular. Through the 90’s decade hip hop was anywhere from 11 to 20 years old. The audience was more common in age, style, etc.
I’ll give you an analogy. Think of how consensus everything would be in basketball if the NBA started in 2000. And these past 22 years was all we had.
