My honest opinion in regards to all these mofos wanting Wayne to do this.
First off since when does a hometown artist have to perform in said city the SB is being held.
That shit only gained traction cause Juve said it.
Instead of being mad at Dot, mofos need to be mad at Jigga.
Oh that's right the same Jigga that helped Wayne with his taxes when his money was funny.
Or the same Jigga that wanted to sign him when his CM contract was up.
But Baby dangled his own record label in front of him and he was too idiotic not to read the fine print of priority stake.
Wayne would have a completely different trajectory had he not had Young Money.
Kendrick worked for that spot and should be celebrated as such. All that unnecessary hate is corny.
He did great and made a statement while DT was in attendance.

Lil Wayne is a trash live performer. He's never been good at live shows. Even during the 2008 peak, he was cringy live. Terrible breath control. Small stage presence. Incoherent speech. Too many vulgar lyrics for mainstream hits. Poor outfit choice.

Wayne in a music video does not translate to a good live performance.

Travis Scott is a better live performer than Lil Wayne and I'm not saying that to say that Travis Scott is a better rapper but he's an example of a rapper who is much more put together in a live show than Lil Wayne.

Niggas gotta walk on eggshells to critique a Kendrick performance. I hate how if someone shows even an inkling of not liking his performance niggas immediately start lecturing them about shit going over their heads.

Niggas are gonna think piece and hidden message this performance until the BET Awards lololololololololololololololol

He apologized after because he succumbed to unnecessary pressure to strike back when the energy was misguided altogether. He never wanted to say what he said to Kendrick but he got pushed to, which was out of character for him. If this was a battle based on lyrical skill, I'm sure Cole would've invited K Dot to hop on a track with him and let the fans decide. But just like how Drake and Kendrick played out, he would've had to up the pettiness if he kept going this particular route. Plus if he kept that track up, the energy he never wanted out in the first place would've still been lingering. To me, Cole's mistake was not reaching out to Kendrick first and reading the room before going in.... I feel like the apology was warranted there. It's a battle rap faux pas for sure, but it's also a grown man making a grown man decision... there shouldn't be an "issue" at all.
Nope

This here is hip hop

You don't apologize to the man that hit you first

And he wasn't just apologizing he was pandering and dick eating on stage

Nah, cole went out wack

And I guarant damn tee he's been having trouble writing those "im the goat" bars for his next album

No man

There's a difference between "it wasn't for me" vs "man that shit is wack and y'all only like it cause it's Kendrick"

I think the responses to people who say "It wasn't for me" are largely made up of people who get very defensive and act like anything that goes against Kendrick goes against the "culture"
