If it was Kendrick, niggas would be in here posting Amistad “give us free” gifs
If it was Kendrick I would be disappointed in him because this would look crazy in a scenario where he lost the battle then sued UMG and Spotify.

This battle was set up as a David vs Goliath situation where Drake’s popularity could have easily made the battle go different .

He was talking crazy on Taylor Made like he knew he had this in the bag.Shiiiiiiit had me nervous

Now all of a sudden he’s a victim like hadn’t been sneak dissin and asking for it.

Yeah, I'd argue his image was hurt more by him acting like a bitch than NLU. Most people thought that was the knockout punch in the beef, but everyone was giving Drake credit for making the beef interesting.

Exactly. He fought back in a way most didn't think he would. Had he just kept quiet for a while and came back rapping with the same intensity he had on Family Matters it would've given him the credit he's desperately been searching for his entire career

All that this video tells me is that Kendrick or Kendrick's representation probably has bargaining power. That doesn't seem far fetched considering he only penned the deal a year ago. You can be jealous of his deal or find it unfair but UMG charging a 30% less than what they typically charge across the board seems to be something left to their discretion unless stated somewhere otherwise. Now is it unfair that the publisher and the distributor are in bed financially? Sure. That seems like something the US Federal government should probably look at but honestly with the amount of music streaming platforms that are out there I doubt they are going to look at as a monopoly. If the federal government isn't prosecuting senators over insider trading good fucking luck getting them to prosecute people over this shit.

The crazy shit is if you read the filing it says the 30 percent lower fee was “in exchange for Spotify affirmatively recommending the Song to users searching for unrelated songs and artists.” Essentially Drake is accusing them of giving Kendrick a discount, using bots to boost his streams, promoting his music at an unfair advantage and also egaging in the same practices with radio stations amongst other allegations. This is my Issue with Rory and Mal (Reading is fundamental). They both lack critical thinking. If he just read a little further he would understand that the issue is the EXCHANGE OF SERVICES.

I don't believe that Spotify is under any obligation to disclose how it's algorithm works or how it can make recommendations. What I'm looking forward to is that Spotify might be forced to disclose some of their inner working much like how the Epic Games vs Google suit forced Google to disclose some of their inner workings.
