Yes and no. Yes because it does reframe the popularity if NLU and goes against this image people have placed on Kendrick of him being anti everything corporate when it comes to hip hop. No because as has been said Draks has also most likely benefited from the same practices.

Fam, reframe it how? We all lived through this shit together. We didn’t need numbers on a chart to tell us what we all witnessed in real time.

The core he's trying to prove is that UMG boosted NLU to lower Drake's value while he negotiating a new deal. And if they did do that along with lowering the percentage value of the stream then that is fucked up. But Drake ain't a sympathetic figure so ain't nobody gonna care if that shit was used against him.

I'm sure that's the justification for the case, but how much was his value really lowered when he was still among the most streamed artists throughout the beef. Stream boosting is apparently pretty common, so it might be difficult for him to prove specific maliciousness against him.

If this was any other artist yall be rootin for them to go at the label but since its drake yall dissin
It’s not like he’s trying to do this for getting jerked for his music.

Ppl might side with Drake if there’s proof of him getting jerked or illegal practices.

This is a dumb ass waste of time action over him being mad he lost a battle.

Do you think if things went another way and he was perceived as the winner he would be suing or talking about suing ?

I mean there's definitely a case to be made his value was lowered because his public image did take a hit. But as you said he'd have to prove it was aided by UMG. And that's where he's gonna be struggling to prove

It reframes it only in a strictly numbers way. It doesn't reframe the impact of the song. But for people who also use numbers to justify a songs impact if the streams were boosted then all the "NLU was #1 for 8 weeks" doesnt matter. It never should have but to a certain segment it does.

I hope DRAM is able to sue Drake at a later date and prove Drake robbed him of his career.

Matter fact I hope this opens the flood gates against Drake and he is sued by every rapper he snaked, stole from or even looked at funny.

Yeah, I'd argue his image was hurt more by him acting like a bitch than NLU. Most people thought that was the knockout punch in the beef, but everyone was giving Drake credit for making the beef interesting.
