Yep but I also don’t do indoor ranges and most of my “range” toys aren’t for indoor ranges. I’m not one of those dickheads that shoot unsuppressed SBR at indoor ranges. Same idea goes for FRS don’t be “that guy” go to an outdoor range.
It's a reason why they say where hearing protection. But I'm with you on that

Last time I went to the range I walked past some young bruhs with rifle cases heading in. I asked what they were shooting and one cat was like they had AR's with FRT's and Super Safeties.

My one boy just went Wednesday with his Tokarev Tar12 12ga semi auto (I really need to get one of these). Said he had it loaded with Black Aces HV slugs. There was a firearms class in there at the same time and when he got finished running some out the whole class was just staring at him.

My general rule of thumb keep 1000 rds + for each caliper I own except 5.7 since the prices were high and availability was short when it became more common. Gives me a good amount of range ammo or if SHTF and prevents overpaying for ammo when jackasses wanna skyrocket their prices.
smart thinking. I try to do the same, but if you have a few different weapons that can be pricey and cause clutter. LMAO.

But, I definitely agree and try to practice what you stated above.

Actually it’s bit bad at all, I use one of those Husky sealed totes from home depot that holds all my spare ammo. I do remove them from their boxes (usually I will keep whatever side has the info such as batch #/grain size etc in case there’a ever an issue) throw them in ziplock bags w/ some silica packs and done w/ minimal storage.

I will also suggest having enough spare mags on hand too especially for the AR platforms w/ the way the politicians wanna either put a capacity limit of just ban them all together its worth having a few spares.

For 9mm and .22wmr I use a couple of combination lock boxes for my ammo. I don't take them out of the boxes tho. I keep forgetting to swing by Office Depot to pick up a couple more for my overflow. I got shit sitting on top of one of the boxes that has a mix of 9mm and .22WMR in it. Actually, I have a couple hundred rounds of .223/5.56 sitting on top of the box that has the majority of the .22WMR in it. I really gotta get that shit together.

As for spare magazines, I have plenty of spares for everything except my Taurus G3 and Smif .22 Compact.

That's a smart idea with the totes. Never thought of that.

I was thinking of buying a smaller safe and putting a lot of the ammo in it. I usually keep the boxes and put them in ammo cans. I have a few ones with all the different types of ammo I own. I need to label the cans because the bigger ones have different calibers. The small cans have all the same stuff for me. I have a ton of Mags for my AR though. need to get a few more for my Creedmore 6.5 though

In my recent lapse of maturity I fucked around and got placed on the terrorist watchlist and everybody is on high alert at my house because I brought this for about $100 and can't stop using it. The wife gets pissed when she comes home and has to be careful because she doesn't know where I'm camping out at😂😂😂😂

Camping in the crib is hilarious.

That was a method until I started acquiring more and more then I went the in a tote route while still keeping them in the boxes until I lost some ammo due to mold the cardboard didn’t help that 😂..stupid me never noticed my shooting bag that I also store in there was wet… expensive lesson.

With weatherproof seal in the lid and few different sizes available and can have add a lock if necessary. I use one of this to store my spare mags and other parts to, if the clean lid is an issue.. a little spray paint to black out the lid could be a easy fix.

@Matt123 why you toss the ammo? Could you have wiped the ammo down and atleast mag dump em?

Only steel cased ammo was tossed no way will I ever shoot that rusted/pitted crap out of anything I own. I kept whatever brass I had and cleaned what mold that I could have and will be used at the range in the future.. just need to sort it all out since its 223/556 and 300BO sitting in a 5 gallon bucket.

The hot brass boogie 😂

I had hot brass from my CMR bounce off the wall and hit me on the side of my neck, then roll down my shoulder. I dropped the rifle and got that shit on up outta my shirt fast as fuck. In fact, I had two of 'em hit my arm when I made this video. Shit burned like crazy.

Ahh yes nothing like getting hit with hot brass to remind you of the dangers involved with firearms 😭
I know its wild, but I just shot a revolver for the first time a month ago. I have shot most other types of guns, yet somehow never even held a revolver before last month. I like that there aren't any cases flying around and in general they just felt more fun to shoot.

Anyone own a K6s?

The Chiappa Rhino has been on my list for a minute and I finally decided to buy one. I still need to get the range this weekend, but this is definitely a cool gun just for a collection.

The 40DS is the perfect medium between a snub and something to big to carry. I'll return after I put rounds through it.
