As far as I understand how genes work, either we all have a "gay gene" and only people who are gay have the mutated or none existent gay gene. But since that wasn't the case the only other place to look is the mind. Can't be saying it's all in the mind tho. Now we're in a pickle what to do with people who feel to their core they are something else.

So why can't society accept a group of people who love dogs, and deciding they are dogs. Or a White people who grow up loving Asian popular culture or Black popular culture and deciding they are Asian or Black.
Gender reassignment is crazy people shit. It's only becoming normal to some people due to the medicalization of it. But waking up one day, thinking, "Damn I am in the wrong body, let me change it" is no less crazy than someone thinking they are the wrong species or the wrong race and changing it.

No but it's crazy to think people "one day wake up thinking, I'm in the wrong body, let me change it". Trans gender people majority of the time can recall being as young as 5 and not feeling like they matched their pronoun or clothes etc.
Transgendered people haven't been around for thousands. People that have defied the typical Western gender binary yeah, but people cutting off their penises or giving themselves penises, no. People have cross dressed or embraced androgyny forever, considered themselves a damn medical condition.
Transracialism or transethnic identities got more validity anyway. What do you call Hellenistic Egypt, when the Greeks came to Egypt and adopted their gods and culture and even became rulers of Egypt?
People have came across cultures and ethnic groups that they admire and adopted their culture and identity as their own forever.
Not too many people have surgically altered their body to become another sex and reinforce the gender binary.
Only thing transgenderism got behind it is pity and filmsy medical science because we feel bad for them. Not because it's a valid thing, it doesn't pass the crazy test.

Now it's 2021, I say, if a motherfucker wanna change their race, a go head. What's wrong with that? What's so wrong about someone wanting to be another race and changing it.
If people can legally change genders, people should be able to change their race.
One being a "medical condition" and the other one not isn't a good excuse.
