Usher to T-Pain: You f*cked up music

Statement still stands. He tells someone they ruined RnB only for his ass to go and use it.

maybe it wasn’t usher’s decision to use it. he could’ve been pressured by his label. that would explain why he added “for real singers” at the end of his initial statement

he was in his feelings

funny this came from usher cuz I don't know if dude ever fell off...esp during tpain run usher was still cranking out hits and features...WHY WOULD HE of all people bring that up

He still was spitting though.

If someone thinks auto tune ruined rap you have to blame the dude that brought auto tune back to the front and that was Pain.
This one of those situations where people saw how successful pain was with it and decided to attach themselves to it to get in on the rewards.

Monkey see monkey do

I’m not gonna blame somebody using it wrong on somebody who was using it right

I don't. Seemed mad disrespectful and completely out of the blue. It's not even like Usher was put on the spot in an interview or they were talkin' about music and Usher said it.

It's like sayin' his wife is ugly, it may be his opinion but like why say it???

I wanna say Usher was hatin' but maybe there's more to it

Of course we are only hearing T-Pain side of the story but I took the whole conversation as Usher telling T-Pain that his popularity spawned a whole bunch of bad singing copy cats. I honestly don’t think Usher just said “you fucked up music” and that was it. sounded to me like the conversation Usher was having with T-Pain had way more nuance to it. Shit, T-Pain said after Usher stated the initial premise of the conversation he tuned him out. Lol.

True friends keep it real with each other even when stuff isn’t great to hear. The last thing I want is a bunch of “yes” men around me and I appreciate when folks let me know when I’m wrong or screwing up.

Of course there are so called “friends” who you find out are just hating or not what they seem to be. maybe Usher was hating on T-Pain, but from the bit I gathered from what was posted it truly is hard to disseminate that because T-Pain admittedly said he didn’t listen to the man’s dialogue and he never said what else Usher was talking about. Lol

then blame the labels for signing these cats

my fault brother

it’s all good.

he quoted my initial post because I said I respected Usher for at least being up front and telling T-Pain how he felt about auto tune.

I never said Usher was right but I did respect that he wasn’t fake about his feelings like I’m sure many other singers were.
