Welcome To aBlackWeb

TikTok is urging users to call Congress about a looming ban to 170 million Americans of their Constitutional right to free expression

They should say fuck it and not sell. But then theyd be out of billions.

I dont use tiktok and have no personal stake in this. But I do want to add something to why the US is concerned.

To me this is not just a data issue. Cause China got all our data. Too late for that. But it is super worrisome to think that a foreign country designed an algorithm thats getting peoples attention for multiple hours a day. Thats mad power for a foreign entity to have and is rightfully a concern imo.

The argument against this is the American companies thats had a hold on Americas zeitgiest for the last 20 years have destroyed America, so they not any better. I would agree with this point but even giving the same power a foreign country adds new fears and worries to this.

The CEO of TikTok should of said in his speech that they will now divest from the United States & move their operations somewhere more friendly. He probably can't say what they are really going to do because the FBI might seize his operation

Let's be clear

He signed the aid to Ukraine Bill that had this in it
Yea, but he knew it was in it. It's a tactic to latch on more controversial shit onto something with mainstream acceptance.

Bc then if the bill was to get shot down by either side bc of the tik tok shit, instead of headlines calling it like it is, they'll say that side doesn't support democracy/Ukraine support.

The Senate could of easily separate it if they wanted to
